I think this is going to be a very low scoring affair. Green Bay's offense is banged up, but their defense is stacked with young talent. I can see both teams struggling to move the ball. In the end, I think the Lions are able to generate some pressure and force Love into making some bad decisions. Lions win an old school NFC Central slugfest.

Nailed that one, lol!
That first half was as dominant a performance as I've ever seen from a Detroit Lions team in my 45 years of following this team, and we even left some points on the field! Both lines just destroyed last night! I'm going to go back and rewatch, but here are some thoughts after getting very little sleep from being too geared up to fall asleep last night.
I love agressive defensive football! Tracey Walker's hit on the WR on Jacobs' first pick was fantastic. I love the way they pursued and absolutely blew up both Love and Jones on the option run. Anzalone sure does love playing at Lambeau! McNeil and Buggs were getting pretty consistent push up the middle all night long. Branch has such great instincts, closing speed, and is such a sure tackler. Barnes is quietly turning into our most consistent linebacker. He seems to be in on every play and is all over the field (was even covering on the play at the end of the 3rd that should have never happened, and managed to run with Reed...sort of). Love the "next man up" mentality when anyone goes out. Also love that both Branch and Barnes looked to be out for the game but both came back.
Offensively, another dominant performance by most of the o-line, though Glasgow certainly seemed to struggle in pass protection a lot last night. One play in particular where GB brought two LB's right up the middle, and Glasgow was busy trying to block a d-lineman that was already being double teamed by Ragnow and Jackson, completely turning his back on the two LB's. Montgomery's ability to fall forward on every single run is one of the things I like most about him (was also the thing that used to frustrate me when we would play against him). Favorite stat of the day: former Bears RB David Montgomery as 5 TD's on the season...the Bears have 5 TD's on the season. Really liked the way Decker toughed it out. Even hurting he played really well against a very good defensive front. Goff's laid back approach seems to really pay off when he throws a pick. He doesn't seem to get rattled or start to force throws (like a former Lions QB I know). He can certainly take a beating and bounce right back, too. Josh Reynolds is such a reliable receiver. I love the way he rolls onto his back when making any catches going to the ground to ensure he gets his body between the ball and the ground.
Other random thoughts:
At the half, I said to my wife, "get ready for a bunch of bs calls against the Lions...the league is gonna ensure that this game stays close to keep viewers interested". Sure enough, a quick holding call on Glasgow, which they never even offered a replay on (tells me it was likely a phantom call), a bs penalty on Hutch, and then a bs penalty on Anzalone all keep the opening drive of the 2nd half going. It would be funny if it weren't so damn predictable.
The endzone view of the Goff dash for the goal line was hilarious, and was evidence of just how slow he is. There was not a single Packer on the entire left side of the field (none in the entire camera view). It looked like Goff could've walked in. Then the GB defenders came running in, and it became obvious that Goff's running pace is basically equal to walking, lol.
For all Ben Johnson's brilliance, he needs to figure out some better routes for Gibbs. Get him the ball in space and in-stride. Enough of these unblocked screens in the flat, or routes where he goes out 5 yards and just sits down.
I swear LeFleur was on the brink of tears just before halftime.
I'm really starting to enjoy hearing "Let's go LIONS!" chants to close out these road games. Our fans are traveling, and are LOUD! I absolutely love it! 4 straight against the fudgepackers!

He had like 30 carries and over 100 yards. I'm too lazy too look it up the exact numbers, but they to get those other guys some more touches, or he won't ge available down the stretch.

hot hand, division game and extra rest all played into that 30 carries, I'm sure

This is great! 💯 your wife knows what's up and it does seem like we play harder on the road? Idk. Did the NFL do away with two back sets? That might be something to explore with Gibbs. Nice post mofo

Rewatching the game I'm still convinced Branch tore his achilles. I hope I'm wrong, and I know x-rays were negative, but didn't they say that about Aaron Rodgers at first?
I can't imagine that he would be able to come back out with an Achilles tear. X-rays won't typically show an Achilles tear, needs an MRI to confirm. Campbell didn't sound that worried about his injury, but hard to judge on the spot. Now whether this will create a potential for future injury is up in the air.

looked like a twist to me, shall we do the Rodgers thing and say they should get rid of all grass fields because his cleats stuck
