What an abortion of a game. Nobody played well.
Lions blew a huge opportunity imho. They still have everything ahead of them, but they have look of the Vikings last year. Overachieving and most likely a first round playoff loss coming.
Not saying they don’t win the division, but it’s getting shakey.
This loss is worse than the Ravens loss and statistically Goff’s worst game of the year.

Goff refuses to throw it downfield. What's up with that? Where was Jamo? Gibbs wasn't involved as much as he should have been. LaPorta is rock solid, but Amon barely got thrown to as well. Somebody should have told him to take those damn gloves off. They weren't working. Ragnow not playing hurt. Him and Goff have rythmn, he has played with Glasgow before, but he seems different when Ragnow isn't there. These little things can add up and with the O line depleted it shows. Okasawa and Jonah didn't play too good. On a positive Benito is a nice find on D. Let get James Houston and Ragnow back and this will be a better team.
The Gibbs drop would have been a sure TD. The whole game changes if we score there.
Yeah at least a first down. Lots of plays you can point to though that could have changed the game. Including the always reliable St. Brown all of a sudden dropping critical passes.
Not saying these are SOL, but man this game really felt like a SOL game...

It's just a shit game. These things happen a couple/few times per year. It is what it is. The team is good, they just played like shit. Some key players hurt. Whatever. 9-4 at this point is pretty damn good, probably better then all you guys figured and now you want to write them off? They win 3 of the next 4 or even go 500 and that's 11 wins. That said if Goff plays outdoors in a cold place like say, umm...well, that will be a tough game.

Yeah, I'm still trying to figure out why they would play press-man coverage on a 4th and 13
If I remember right, it looked like they were going to bring pressure there. Melifonwu was over the top, too. Looked like he got caught watching when the flag got thrown and he didn’t move until it was too late. Jerry did a shit job of getting a jam and immediately opened giving Moore free release.
Bears were never going to snap the ball, Hutch can’t jump there. He had 2 big mistakes in this one.
Can’t fault Glenn too much yesterday. Thought his gameplan was sound. His guys just made some critical mistakes. Missed tackles and some undisciplined play.
Now Ben Johnson….he needs some heat for yesterday.

I went in to this expecting a loss. I considered a win to be less than a 30% probability.
My reasoning was that they were without Ragnow and McNeil. Their best interior linemen on each side of the ball. And not just best, but most important, because it left them weaker in the very middle. Both of these guys are heavily counted on to anchor that center; without them, there's no need to double-team the guy in the middle, leaving the tackles exposed on either side.
This was not going to be pretty from the get-go. Against a team like the Bears who are fighting for respectability; fighting for jobs and a future in the NFL. There's just no way to reasonably expect them to absorb that kind of hit to their depth chart. Forget it.
I actually thought they played about how I expected. Maybe a little better. The run-blocking was actually a bright spot. And with a more normal game-day depth chart, that kind of run game will, statistically, win you more games than not if you can keep the turnovers / penalties down and use it to your advantage to control the clock. They got behind early though (kudos to the Bears for that), so forget it.
