Jaguars are asking for a 1st round pick for Jalen Ramsey. He's one of the best corners in the league and I guess he wants to play man coverage which we let our corners do.
If I knew we were going to lose a lot of games and say pick in the top 5 and possibly have a chance to get a QB I wouldn't. If we are mid-late teens pick then I would prefer possibly getting this guy and getting a few years extension on top.
Do we think this is a year when we can make a run and should grab a Pro Bowl corner? I'm happy with the DLINE and LB's. Secondary may need a little more help. Offense I'm happy with. Whatever holes we may have on the OL like LG we can grab in next years draft.

Absolutely Bigdog, a first round pick for Ramsey is a steal. The guy could take over for Slay in the coming years. Lions defense would become very strong the next 2 years. Do it Quinn, please.

Not opposed to it but with a guy like Ramsey you have to be prepared for the drama, including unsportsmanlike conduct penalties, ejections, suspensions, and the fact that he could go off the rails at any moment as soon as things aren't going his way (which is a high likelihood with this team).

Patricia's defense is perfect for Ramsey. He is one of the best man to man corners in the league, just 24 years old. You're right though, he will pitch some tantrums at times, but when he shuts down Adams (Packers), Diggs (Vikings), and Robinson (Bears). His tantrums are not a problem to me. Just tells me he cares a lot.

Yeah, you’ll have a risk of some headaches with Ramsey. Though I think the Jax organization is just a mess right now, but...
Ramsey is an elite talent that could take this from a good with very good potential D, to a top 5 easy with potential of being the best in the league. Like Geezer said, he’s a perfect fit for what Patricia likes to do. That would open things up for offense, too.
I think Lions should be going all in for next couple years and this is the type of move you make to try and do that. If it doesn’t work in next couple years, you blow it all up Dolphins/Browns style.

Sure why not, I don't like the possibility that he will want more money AND the Lions will have to give up a 1st. I don't see the Lions as desperate as the Steelers were to trade for Fitzpatrick.

I would roll out the red carpet, pop the champagne, and back up the Brinks truck. Acquiring a generational talent and most likely a HOF is a no brainer, and the opposite of desperate. I would be talking to Lem Barney, Billy Sims, and Barry Sanders about letting Ramsey wear #20. Imagine having Ramsey locked up for 5 to 6 years. Man would we have a great secondary. Division Champs here we come.
I would give at least 2 1st round picks (2020 and 2021) for a HOF corner if the Jags would give me at least a 2nd and 4th in 2021. Then make him the highest paid corner. 6 years 96 million over half guaranteed.

Yeah, Ramsey does have a big Mouth and is a Social Media Clown......I actually think Martha would Veto somebody like this or at least want a face to face. I don't see this happening. Didn't he get into a twitter fit with Staffords wife?. Nah...I do think the Taco Charlton deal could be a possibility and he has to be better than some we have. They are even talking about dumping him on waivers. I remember him as improving every year at Michigan.

Martha wants a Lombardi trophy more. She will let Quinn do what needs to be done. As far as Taco, he is a bust dude, he had no business being a 1st round pick, that is why the Cowboys are about to let him go. He was at best a 4th rounder. I would never even let the guy get near my team. He is lazy.

The only way you can make a trade for Ramsey is if you have a contract extension in place. You can't trade for a guy (especially involving high draft picks) only to have him complain about his contact and/or hold out next year. Jalen is grossly underpaid on his current deal.
That said, it would be sweet to have Slay and Ramsey at the CB position especially with the beef up front on the DL

Per Bleacher Report:
Where is he most likely to land? A handful of NFL sources questioned this week believe the Kansas City Chiefs are the most likely destination, but as was pointed out by one well-placed pro scouting source, the Jaguars might want Ramsey out of the AFC.
The scout mentioned teams like the Philadelphia Eagles and Detroit Lions as potential surprise landing spots to watch.
Not Ramsey but Chargers waived Trevor Williams from IR. Would be nice addition to secondary. Not sure he’s making it Lions on claim list though.
Gotta wonder if there’s more to the story. I know he’s had trouble staying on the field but seems weird they would give up on a young promising player that quickly.
Ramsey to the Rams for two 1st rounders and a 4th rounder.
Pretty steep price. Would have been nice but that’s a lot. I think my limit would have been a 1st and a 3rd.
Yeah that’s a major price tag, especially with having to pay Ramsey top dollar. Rams will definitely have to do some cap management over next couple years, but respect them going all in.
