I don't necessarily agree with everything he says here, but he does bring up some valid points. I think in the end you just have to draft good players, and Quinn hasn't done that.

Article seems like a reaction to yesterday’s game more than anything. And honestly I think a lot of it does go back to coaching and what they’re doing on D. I loved Burns and wanted him at 8, but how is he being used here? It’s not like you’re plugging him in and everything stays the same. Patricia has seemed to want to for the most part contain rush with 3 or 4 and play coverage behind. It was a brilliant game plan against Mahomes and I understood it against other QB’s that like to break the pocket like Rodgers, Wentz, and Murray. Though they attacked Murray in 1st half and he struggled, then they stopped. I think a similar game plan was needed with Cousins. He’s a guy that will make mistakes, but you have to pressure him into them. That’s not gonna happen rushing 3 and 4 guys. I didn’t understand the game plan yesterday and was disappointed that they didn’t seem to adjust much as game went on. Maybe they did and it just wasn’t effective, but didn’t seem like it watching yesterday.
Think what you saw yesterday was just Patricia being out coached.
They also really miss Hand and Daniels. They have no one that can push the pocket in the interior right now.

I think that's fair in that it is probably something he's been waiting for the right time to write. That said I think there have been hints supporting his argument that past couple seasons. But I do think the underlying issue is talent.

In spots. The LB’s suck right now. Tavai has been ok but Jones and Davis suck right now. Injury issues have limited the interior. If Kerryon is out, that will hurt, but I don’t think he’s been as strong this year.
I don’t think this is a team that lacks a lot of talent. They’ve lost to 3 teams that are combined 16-5 right now and all 3 were competitive.
I think there’s legit concerns to have for sure, but I think 3000 word think pieces at this point in the season are a bit much. Lions could very easily win their next 3, decent chance of 4 of next 5. There’s a lot of season left.
The defense is not getting pressure with 3 and 4 man rush. Without pressure, man to man is just chasing WRs and tackling them after they catch the ball. The few times the Lions rushed more than 4, the Vikings picked it up pretty easily and completed the pass to a WR running open with a defender chasing him through traffic. Something has to give. They can't keep lining up like this and expecting a different result. Even if the front 4 got ANY pressure, with Slay out, man to man is a liability. When I see a WR coming across the middle with a defender chasing him about 2 yards behind, it's usually Coleman. Coleman may be a godsend at punching the ball out, but I think I literally watched him let a WR catch a 1st down pass and then get up so he could try to punch the ball. This is twice this season he's done it, and the first one was the one that started all the memes and such. I'm all for being opportunistic and punching out balls when players see a chance, but this letting someone get up is ABSOLUTE STUPIDITY. Davis is hell on wheels vs. the run most of the time, but I still think he's a liability in pass coverage.
When your defensive scheme is to change weekly to prevent specific offenses from doing what they want, I guess I just don't understand what the game plan was this week.
I asked God for a bike, but God doesn't work that way. So I stole a bike, and asked God for forgiveness.
