Could it be the start of the David Blough era in Detroit? The other guy Driskel...Cincinnati tried to convert him into a wide receiver and he got injured...If this is serious enough be could end up 3-11-1 and maybe win the Joe Burrow sweepstakes...

Sounds like Stafford is done for the year. If doctors won't let him play due to fractured bones in his back, hard to imagine that changing in the next 8 weeks.
As someone who thought the season was already over anyway, I'm actually a little intrigued to see what Driskel can do. At least I'm sure the Bears were game planning for Stafford all week.

Schefter said could be a week or 3...I’d guess a couple losses and it will turn into shutting him down.

Highly unlikely. Even if the Lions lose every game the rest of the way they're looking at a 5-7 pick. And any team in a position to draft Young that doesn't need a QB will not pass him up. I predict Young to the Jets.

This makes me think Stafford is getting shut down.
I think it has more to do with Driskel having an injury pop up from Sundays game and they are not likely to want to showcase the rookie because they will get embarrassed (more than they will be anyways without Staff) on their only other national game this season.

Sloter background. Big arm, great athlete, I think he had a strong preseason this year and was some thought he was gonna make Vikings roster. Funkytown, would probably know.

This should catch you guys up. 18 pages deep of Sloter discussion.
Sloter is very much loved in Minnesota. I've never seen the fanbase so upset over cut like this to get to our final 53. Never. It was crazy!
In sum: Sloter has done nothing but look great in preseason play. Vikings fans wanted him around as our developmental QB. For whatever reason, not everyone believed in him. Some speculate it is to do with his lack of football knowledge and overall experience, but as a Viking, he looked really, really good in every outing. Then you get into the "preseason competition" debate...
Well, I'll go way out on a limb and say that he, for the lack of a better word..."Choked" at critical moments too often. Tremendous athletic ability....awesome/ Mike McMahonesque....but not going to take you where you want to go. I kind of liked him too. But the Blough debut was clearly good enough to broom Driscoll to the IR...and evidently off to the next adventure. The Kyle Sloter signing is also an interesting move. Looking for that "Magic" practice squad player that "may" turn into the next Tom Brady. Makes me kind of curious about Matt Stafford's broken Back bones and the seriousness of that particular injury......very curious indeed. Playing now for a top 5 draft choice. Cincy 0-11, Washington 2-9, Miami 2-9, NY Giants 2-9, Atlanta 3-9, Denver 3-8, Arizona 3-7-1, Lions 3-7-1.. Appears Cincinnati will get #1
