Claimed by the Packers...We will see him soon....If the Packers claimed him....we let him pass by us.. I would Question why? We already have a starting QB with broken bones in his back. Maybe Veldheer sucks and never plays a down for the Pack...Michigan Lad who went to Hillsdale...I really do not understand, But that's why we will see the Packers in the Post Season, not afraid to make bold moves. Maybe Quinn had an epiphany or the "truth" from his New England buddies.
Because he’s not that good. And I also think he’s still not completely healthy. I wouldn’t call claiming Veldheer a bold move.
He's had injury issues for sure. He never made the Pro Bowl, but he was in that discussion during his more healthy years. But he is a Bonafide OT or New England wouldn't have signed him. Depth of this kind we do not have. And we will see what the future holds for Mr Veldheer. I'm sure Green Bay views him as Insurance and Depth. Which was my main point..Quinn seems to always be looking for that magical underdeveloped gem that he can polish..which is o.k., but a grizzled proven vet can also pay dividends. We will see

New England’s OL has been sub par this year and he’s been hurt and hasn’t played a game. If they thought he was worth it, they wouldn’t have cut him. I’m not sure why you’re so worried about the Tackle depth.

When is enough enough....I would point out that Green Bay signed him.....At best I would call the OL barely serviceable...Especially the Tackles. Not elite by any stretch. And I get that...It is difficult to build an elite OL. Maybe these guys get better...That's debatable, certainly the depth is always debatable. Veldheer is from Michigan, he is not a bad player. Not elite but would have "Maybe" helped protect the young QB if one of our starters went down....Just the way my mind works...Kind of the opposite of wanting to sign the "Flashy" WR that you can never throw the ball to because your QB is on his back...No OL protection, no run game.
Veldheer wants to keep playing....He did a decent job for Green Bay. 32 years old but when healthy he can play very well. Depth, Depth, Depth. Probably will sign for budget bargain price. Just one of those little moves that "Might" pay off...Always thinking.
