I agree, seems stupid...you finally start getting continuity and solid play from a high draft pick then you let him walk? Yeah, i may be over this regime...
You and me both. As I've stated before, while I might be over them, I'm willing to give them one more year because I'm tired of the "lather, rinse, repeat" process that we've been enduring for so long with zero results.
I've been okay with most of the players this regime has let walk, but I think I would have a big problem letting Glasgow walk. Given the absurd rotation with Wiggins there must be more to the story.
I like Burrow, but man Stafford and 2 1st round picks +? Yikes.
Yeah, that's a lot. I would definitely do Stafford and the 3rd pick overall though.
Just out of curiosity - if the Lions had the #1 pick (or some bizarre chain of events led him to being available at #3), would you take Burrow?
Would be hard to do with Chase Young on the board. Honestly it would be hard to with some of the other talent in this draft and the likely monster packages you could get from some teams looking to get Burrow.
I like Burrow a lot, but I’m not sure he’s the transcendent talent that he’s being made out to be. I think he’s a really good pro prospect and maybe he’ll be an elite guy, but I think there’s more questions than people think.
Generally I agree...Not many RT can switch to LT...Very few. But most teams drafting a OT draft the LT. I've read and heard they are the most athletic with their feet. I don't know why but they call it the Blind side. Due to QB being right handed and protecting the QB's backside.
For a right-handed quarterback, the left tackle is charged with protecting the quarterback from being hit from behind (known as the "blind side"), and this is usually the most skilled player on the offensive line. Like a guard, the tackle may have to "pull", on a running play, when there is a tight end on their side.
And the Lions don’t need a LT, so value doesn’t add up.
Also, it’s not simple to just shift a LT to RT, either, no matter how good they are. Your sets are different, depth can be different on the other side, there’s a lot going on.
I would question picking a DB over an OT or DT.....Especially a High Quality OT. DT pick of Brown is maybe questionable. I am coming from the school of thought that Defensive pressure from the front 4 is more valuable than a Hot Shot DB. You give an NFL QB enough time and he will pick apart any secondary providing the opposing team has any kind of decent WR corp. I think that is where the lions fell down this year. The DL did not exert enough pressure. I'm not buying that our OT/OL play is all that stellar either and the fact that the lions are willing to let Glasgow leave means they are not willing to pay out the big bucks for what he has delivered. OL was better than past years, but not elite by any stretch. So is a DB going to win you a Super Bowl..? The Lions will be presented with the Option of taking the Best OT in this years draft..That seriously should be considered. I'm not all that sure the Redskins will pass on that either. The Chase Young pick is alluring but Ron Rivera values OL play as a Head Coach. Skins have a pretty good DL. If Williams comes back, who is their LT..Then I think they pick Young. I think A'Shawn Robinson, Snacks, Mike Daniels are gone and that leaves a huge void in that position. Could be the Lions sign a high quality DT..There are a couple that are available for some pretty serious money. Then They might even consider trading down to get more draft picks. Quinn is supposed to be the master at this stuff. No More top 5 WR or DB picks. Build the trenches up...I have said that for so many years and then watched a "Scattershot" approach that has failed really.

No one player is going to win you a Super Bowl. A QB is the only guy that you could make the argument for.
That said, CB’s have a ton of value. There’s a reason the top ones get paid similar to top DT’s. If they think Okudah is worth it, take him. I’d have no issue with it.
