Bengals would have to beat the browns twice and the dolphins.....maybe, but they are looking squarely at Joe Burrow at #1
Giants have the eagles twice and the dolphins...need to win 2
I could see the Redskins winning 1 of their last 4. They are actually a lot better than you would think. If they stick to the run game with Peterson and Guice... who knows.
Dolphins have the Jets, Giants and Bengals ...Have to win at least 1
Falcons have the Panthers, Jaguars and Buc's...Also could win one of those
Cardinals have the Steelers Browns...Need to win one of those
Lions Have the Vikings, Broncos, Buc's and Packers....All of those games are loseable. So we have a shot...If Cincinnati gets the #1. I think they choose Burrow. That leaves the hot shot DE from Ohio State.......or trade down for a bunch of picks...Which would be the smart thing to do depending on the offer. Would be almost a mirror of when they drafted Suh. Chase Young and some more FA DL help. Appears that "Snacks" has lost a happy meal or 2...
Blough will go on a tear, be hailed the next great thing we drop drastically in the draft (like golden said) and they release him next year, where he becomes a starter for someone else. Chicago? You can't make this up. Sorry to rain on this parade, but if they get a top 6 pick this year I will be surprised. Now begins the time whence we begin to get calls and the ball bounces our way and just good enough to lose out on a serious top tier player. Sorry for bringing all this up, but it just seems the way. It's pretty unreal if you think about it. btw I hope I am very wrong.
If they play as is, I think they lose every game the rest of the way. No way they beat the Vikings this Sunday. Tampa and Denver are playing better than the Lions at this moment and they both should be win for the other team. The final game against GB, they will still be fighting for the division at that point, so they go balls out. If that is the case, they will pass at least 2 more and end up just behind the Giants at #3.
If Stafford comes back, like I believe he will after the Vikings game, all bets are off. And he will win a game or two and they will be picking around #10.

Martha please, Time for an intervention....Do not let these guys put Stafford back on the field this year. What purpose does that serve. Just the risk of further injury is enough. Play the 2's and 3's...See who can hang.. Sign people off other practice squads...Young DL, OL, DB's that are squirreled away by teams ....Time to play the vulture and pick some bones. If you hit on just one..hey it is worth it. If not...then you did everything you could

Probably helped the 49ers last year out of any team that I can think of in the last 5-10 years. But almost everyone vying for the playoffs has been fairly decent the last few years.
I'd say drafting high helps you in rounds 2, 3, 4 more so than drafting in the top 5 overall. Unless you get a game changer, which is more likely in the top 5 than any other spot in the first round. Smart GMs make the most of their picks regardless of where they draft and I haven't seen Quinn make a good 1st round pick yet, Ragnow is probably the best he drafted in the first round.
look at the teams vying for the playoffs and tell me who got there with high draft picks
I guess it depends on what your definition of a "high" draft pick is, but in addition to the 49ers golden mentioned, you could argue Chiefs (Mahomes & Fisher) and Texans (Watson) wouldn't be there without those players. But I agree with the point you were making. For the most part, the same handful of poorly run organizations are picking in the top half of the draft every year and rarely take advantage of those picks.
I thought the Bengals and the Redskins and the Giants, Dolphins would Christmas gift the Lions early....So close on all 4
Yep. Arizona too.
there is a chance that everyone at 3 wins pulls another win out. The Giants play both the Redskins and Dolphins yet. Arizona are playing Cleveland at home this week.
Best case scenario: Giants beat Dolphins and Eagles (both at home) Washington beats Giants Lions lose out and they would have the #2 pick

I concur....Highly Doubtful that Cincinnati wins out....Not with Joe Burrow just waiting to be a Bengal. If the Lions end up with #2 pick.....? Good spot to be, could trade down or Select the hot shot DE from Ohio State. Very interesting
Davis and Dahl to IR. Seems pretty clear that Quinn and Patricia have been assured they will be back next year.
Start vulturing up on other teams practice squads. If we find just one backup....it would be a positive. Quinn must have a Practice Squad Guru that knows the ins and outs of other teams practice squad players. At this point what do we have to lose

Quinn constantly churns the practice squad and bottom of the roster. That’s not an issue.
Signing other teams PS guys isn’t as easy as you may think. They have to be rostered for a certain amount of time and other teams don’t generally make it easy.

Next 3 weeks are gonna be like preseason games. What a depressing couple years this has been.
I've been a fan since 1980 and I don't think I've ever been less interested in the Lions than I am now. Even after the 0-16 season I was more into it than I am now (I purposely did not use the word "hopeful" because I don't think I've been hopeful about this team since the early 90's).
I guess in my older age I'm finally realizing how pointless it all is.
