Who did you expect and why is this guy so bad in your opinion?
Please provide some explaination other than, "it's the Lions, Patroits, blah, blah, blah.."
Proofs in the puddin...Don't have an Opinion yet. Just an under the Radar kind of signing. Who Knows he might be the next Dick Jauron or Wade Phillips..I see he was with Patricia on the patriots for a taste, but that wasn't the entire resume. So a new broom sweeps clean. I was surprised at Patricia not selecting an old retread. I'm open for him to come in and stamp his legacy on the Lions Franchise.

Its tough man
Cant bust the guys balls for being skeptical of this organization
What makes the guy any good???
I guess we are once again the Guinea pigs for "Next Hot Defensive Coordinator". Somehow I just can't get the thought out of my head that you also need good "Coachable" players with NFL talent. Oh well, Maybe the guy has "Magic Hands" and is able to rub a mediocre players head like a genie lamp..and "Voila" an all pro player appears.

It’s Patricia’s D. That was never going to change.
“Calling plays” means jack shit anyway. It’s far more about scheme and philosophy. Going with an over vs under front, match man vs man, isn’t going to make or break the D. It’s what’s being installed in the offseason and week to week game plans. If Patricia truly self scouts during the offseason and allows some input/challenge from the new DC than there may be hope. If he keeps hammering the square peg in the round hole like he did this season, there will be issues.

I don't know if he will be good or not. Don't know if he will be a puppet or not? But the guy has been an NFL coach or assistant for 15 years. The Eagles secondary was a pretty good unit for most of their Superbowl run but did take a slight step back this past season with injuries.
Guess I am just not skeptical about everything because people are so jaded by this team that they can't believe anything could possibly work for them because they have been bad for so long. The easy thing is to immediately denounce it, but it is also lazy.
While Im not saying its wrong, isnt it weird that the Philly reporter says that? Not sure how/why he would know...
Possible they have a relationship with Undlin or people around him and that’s where it came from.
Could be nothing, too.
It also says “initially”
I saw the initially too...thought that was intereting..
But who knows...I guess Undlin loves this guy, so instead of calling his wife, he calls the reporter and says hey, I got this cool gig, but I wont be play calling...lol...IDK, seems a little weird to me...seems like more guessing than reporting to me, but who knows...

Not that matters, because like I said, who is calling plays isn’t the real issue. It’s about scheme and philosophy. But if this is true it goes more to the “Patricia puppet” argument. How do you take a DC job and not know if you’re even calling the plays?
