Makes you wonder what the hell is going on here when guys like Van Noy and Tomlinson cant even make a play as a Lion, leave and become pro bowlers on another team.
Also Martin Mayhew's success. Makes you wonder how much meddling ownership has in the draft's. I keep in thinking back to when Millen claims he wanted to draft Jammer but they selected Harrington.

At least based on PFF, Tomlinson's best season was his rookie year with Detroit.

new GM's always come in and want to remake a team so they get rid of the previous GM's players and bring in their own it is the same mistake over and over again

Don't act like you all cared about them trading Tomlinson and thought it was a bad trade. I am guessing everyone thought it was a terrible pick. His play in SF is basically the same thing we got in Detroit.

Yep. It's similar to the Ebron situation (though he wasn't traded). Last I heard I think the Indy GM out right said they will be moving on from him. And GM's never reveal their cards like that. Both players were just put in much better situations to succeed (Van Noy as well).
Lather. Rinse. Repeat.

I don't think anyone has watched enough 49ers games to say his play is the same. I could give a shit what PFF grades him at, OL and Secondary are the 2 grades they take the most heat for.
That said, other than Vic, I don't see anyone that's really said more than he's just in better scheme and situation for him.

i didn't say that
I said why do these players leave here (and GM) and have success when they can't do fuck all here in Detroit?

I think that's a valid question
I dont think you understood the comment...what he is saying is most understand that it may have been scheme or fit differences while you, apparently, do not...

then why even bring Tomlinson into a discussion. Because people want to rip on the Lions organizaton for anything and that includes having a guy go to another team (who was garbage at the time he was shipped) and somehow use it as a dig against the organization and I just think it is an unfair correlation.

That's all I was saying in my other post.
Like I said, Vic is really the only guy that did that.

A player? Many players and the past GM. Then I mentioned ownership and drafting.
Just bringing it up.... hey let's talk about other cool things like the Lions defense. Maybe that is a better topic.
