I think the Talib/Sherman comments were likely sarcasm from Patricia that Slay probably took the wrong way, but there’s clearly more to the relationship that went bad. And it obviously wasn’t just with Slay.

Sarcasm or motivation tactics gone wrong.
Basically. From everything(including this)that we’ve seen or heard about over last couple years. Patricia came in too hot and got off on the wrong foot with guys and alienated some guys. Also sounds like he started to fix some of that last year, but was clearly too late with some of them.
What the hell is wrong with these young guys. Man, they need safe spaces. What a bunch of pussies.
Patricia could be more a little less abrasive, but geez.
Patricia is an ass. He told Slay he wasn't good enough to train with Sherman and other top CB's. He didn't like Slay signing jerseys at the end of games and giving it to a fan. Patricia is an asshole.
Well at this point unless Slay intercepts a Stafford (Other Lion QB) pass and runs it back for a pick 6 to knock the Lions out of the playoffs, or intercepts a pass in another game for a pick 6 that knocks the Lions out from making the playoffs...I wish Darius Slay the best. At least he wasn't a woman beater or a druggie...
Should Slay have accepted apology and moved on? Yes
This whole thing is so stupid and drama on the level of housewives of livonia...
Pretty much. Like I said earlier. Patricia clearly came in and tried be king swinging dick and it fell flat. Which is why by most accounts, including Slay’s, things changed last year. Hopefully he’s still learning and will continue to adjust and adapt.
It’s too bad it had to end ugly. Slay was a great CB for Detroit and did a lot of good things off the field. I get why he’s trying to get out ahead of it, but Patricia and Quinn haven’t really went the smear job route with anyone. Slay would be smart to just let it die.
