Amendola was a pleasant surprise last year and he played way more games than I thought he would. I don’t expect back to back healthy seasons but I’m sure the money is on the low end so good insurance policy. Hopefully they draft or sign a slot guy that can compete.

Veteran presence plus 2 time super bowl winner. And he can still play some.
His numbers, top 10 in catches for first downs. Top 20 for catch rate and best on Lions. Hall is under contract, for me it's not a bad idea that at least one group on the team has some depth.

Yeah, this looks like a really good solid move as long as money isn’t something crazy. Which I doubt. Decent chance of some regression, but even with that will still probably be a solid slot guy and will help take pressure off a young guy they’ll likely draft.
They don’t have a single WR under contract for next season. They should honestly draft 2 WR’s in this draft with the depth there is.
I assume you mean 2021 right? That's along way away. I would doubt they go after any big name in free agency, maybe someone like Robinson from KC or Perriman form TB. They will resign Golladay (or at least they should), Marvin Hall could be worth a 3 year re-up. They can draft a guy in this heavy rich WR class in 3-4 round that should be able to contribute.

Yep, and I don't even feel great about the group this year other than Golladay. Jones hasn't finished the last 2 seasons (and I'm not even convinced he'll be on the roster week 1). Amendola has been relatively healthy the last few years but will be 35 before this season ends. Not only would I look to draft 2 WRs but I would also look at signing a Perriman, Funchess or Agholor.

It is. But you need a plan in place and FA is only going to get you so much. I expect them to sign Golladay, but after that? Marvin Hall is what he is, I don’t thin he’ll ever be more than a guy you chuck it deep to once or twice a game. They need more than one WR to develop.

Jones isn’t going anywhere. I’m not crazy about the guys you listed. Last year was the first year Perriman showed any signs of life, and most of it came against Detroit. Funchess is meh and got 10 million last year for being meh. Agoholor might be the only one that would be cost effective, but he’s had major drop issues.

He averaged 5/101/1 the last 5 games, it wasn't just against Detroit. I would take a chance on him for his ceiling. I heard some speculation that he struggled early in his career due to his father's health.

Half his TD’s came against the Lions in that game. He put up some numbers against bad teams in meaningless games down the stretch when TB had no WR’s. If you can get him on a cheap 1 year deal, sure take a flier, but his track record sucks and WR’s get overpaid in FA more than any other position.
Continuity is not a word one might use to describe the Lions. With Hall, you have 4 WR's under contract that have been here for at least 1 season. With all the other revamping they need to do this gives them some breathing room for at least 1 position although it doesn't mean that they can pass on taking a WR in the draft. Too deep to not use a pick and there's too much talent to walk away from.

At least I offered some people that I think might be decent here and that are FA this year. I don't see you ponying up any suggestions.

I would be very disappointed if they didn't draft a WR this year.

I did. I said I’d draft more than one WR in this draft due to the depth and the lack of depth going forward on the roster.
I’m not completely opposed to guys like Perriman, Agoholor, or Funchess, but I wouldn’t give any of them more than cheap 1 year deals and not sure you’re gonna get them for that.
I'm 100% against getting anymore FA WR's. I was for signing Amendola because it was more like an extension as he had already been here and we know what we can expect. We need players from the draft who can be next man up next year, and possibly contribute this year. Jones could get extended next year, at that point it's about the money and his age, but I expect at least 2 holes to fill in 2021 unless Amendola wants to keep playing. There should be a plan in place now, with the talent available in this draft, to make sure we are covered.

Donovan Peoples Jones.....I'd like to see him in an offense with Stafford throwing the ball at him.
