Any way to expand the conversations on the page? I don’t care to see the photos and garbage on the EFT and have the conversations squeezed down.
Yes, we can make a theme without the sidebar.
And when you say "we"?
But no, it's easy to copy existing themes and remove certain feature, but it's best to do that after you're done because if you add a feature or want to change something, you have to do to every single theme individually so it can be a pain if you have too many themes. I should know, we have 12 themes because some people want 2 sidebars, some only want 1, and some don't want any. I wish there were a profile setting where people could disable certain features themselves, but most of the fancy stuff is done via 3rd party plugins. So long story short, lets get the 3 existing themes working and looking the way you guys want, then we'll add additional themes.
As far as the admin stuff, I know one of the concerns was us taking over the site (not gonna happen, but I get the concern). My original plan was to get you guys set up, and then have TechLion take away our administrator permissions. But that's going to be up to him.
Yeah you guys seem great and all, but I don't want to have to be over here fixing every little thing everyday lol. Herr Funkmeister, or is it Frau Funkmeister? Keeps me busy enough as it is on our board with her out of control OCD and little demands, so yeah it'd be best to have your own little team. She so kindly volunteered my services to 3 or 7 other boards now too, I lost count, so yeah xD.
We'll help Techlion1 get acclimated to proboards, or whoever he elects for technical support. And I'm always just a PM away over at Purple Pain if anything else is needed. I'll drop in occasionally too to see what the kitty kats are up to xD. The Bears fans have been fun, so I look forward to chatting with you guys about football too. Like our mutual fondness for those effing cheeseheads.
How does my post count and profile and stuff get imported over?
Nothing will be imported over, you'll have to setup your profile again yourself, but post count can be edited. Note that your actual posts from the old site won't be moved over. Funky will take care of the post count.
Our goal with this move - and partnership - will be to add to our community, foster additional discussions/perspectives, work together on site promotion and overall growth, etc. We would love for you to be part of this. You'll still have your own community to discuss everything Detroit Lions that you're used to, but you'll also be just one click away from engaging with other NFCN fans at their respective boards.
lionsredzone.com will be used for ARCHIVED threads so that you can still see your old posts and continue your conversations at this board. Eventually lionsredzone.com domain will be moved to this board.
It takes just a moment to get registered.
We would love your feedback, as well ... as we work together to make this community everything you want it to be.
Thanks, TechLion
Thanks for all you do Tech. Do you have a Paypal or anything for donations toward hosting, etc.
Just some general questions/observations on the new site:
Can we get more themes than just the 3 options we have now? All 3 suck. The light one would be okay if every other post wasn't gray.
How do you multi-quote?
Do we have control of the Lions News feed to the left?
Should we update the banner photo? Maybe have a contest or something?
Blaming, if you live in the Detroit area, it would be cool if you stopped by one of my restaurants in Plymouth one day. Barrio made the Free Press top 25 Mexican restaurants in Michigan and Pizza e Vino was voted top 25 Pizza in Michigan. You need to see how big of a dip shit Blog is in person!

I live in PA about 500 miles from Detroit, but next time I'm in the area would love to check it out.
Where in PA do you live? My son is recruited to play D1 lacrosse at Lehigh University. I am in the Philly area several times a year for tournaments. I will be in the Pittsburgh area in two weeks. I was born in Aliquippa PA the home of Mike Ditka, Tony Dorsett and many others. My dad was friends with Mike Ditka's dad.
I'll have some time this weekend to help out with some things, as well. I'm going to keep gathering feedback so I/we can continue to work on things. K, pal?!
I just checked and it was Blog that signed up as Felix. Blog is a total fucking idiot! Funky could you give Felix his name back and change the current Felix to Blog.

Who is this Blog?
I asked God for a bike, but God doesn't work that way. So I stole a bike, and asked God for forgiveness.
Alright I installed a couple plugins that should be useful.
The first is called "quick quote". It gives you an option to highlight the text of someone's post in case you don't want to quote their entire post. Sometimes that's more useful than quoting a very long post, or if you don't going through a post manually to edit the parts you want to quote.
Whenever you highlight some text, a "quick quote" button will appear next to your cursor. When you click the button the highlighted text will be added as quote to your quick reply message below. You can go through and add as many quotes as you'd like. It won't mess up any message that you may have already started, it'll just add the quote to the bottom of it.
One thing you have to watch out for is if you try to quick quote some text that's already in a quote. When it adds the quote to your message, it'll have the name of the poster and not the person who originally said it, so if you want to quote someone, you'll have to find their original post. And ofc you can always just continue quoting the normal way. Unfortunately the quick quote feature doesn't work in PM's.
The other plugin I added is a "back to top" button. It'll appear on the lower right hand corner of your screen when you start scrolling to the bottom of a page. Click it and it'll automatically take you back to the top of the page.
