I don’t think I can remember a player destroying his draft stock like Jachai Polite. 1st round talent when you watch him. Completely offset by the way draft process has gone for him.
Like this guy if he's still there after the 5th...http://www.dnronline.com/sports/moreland-makes-most-of-pro-day/article_8f618553-252c-5989-ad8d-e8a198350d98.html#tncms-source=article-nav-prev
This is a breakdown done by a Raiders fan when Melvin was with INDY. Obviously last season in a different system he was less effective but if he returns to form CB isn't likely to be an early round target.
edit: Am I the only one who only sees the unlinked website and not the actual video in Dane's post? I quoted the last post and then could see the youtube video there.

I would take a WR and a CB in this draft no matter who is on the team, it's just a question of where. Melvin gave us some wiggle room as did Amendola, but yes we need long term solutions. WR's are easier to find in later rounds and in this draft I think after the first 2 rounds there is a significant drop in talent at CB and I would rather plug other holes. Next year you can put CB at the top of the list if need be, but for this year I wouldn't do it.
Every day that goes by that we haven't added another backup QB makes me believe that they are targeting one in the draft. The fact is that you want 4 QB's for camp just to be able to run the receiver drills. That we only have 2, had a chance to add one from the AAF fold but ... crickets, I think is further evidence that they have already made their decision. Well, unless they believe they can coach up Cook that is.

Just signed Tom Savage.
I still think they’re taking a QB on day 3.
I'm not saying it's likely, but it would not shock me if they took a QB on day 1.
On day 3 I really like Easton Stick who Dane turned me on to.

Yeah, I’d be shocked. With the resources they pumped into FA, I don’t see them spending a 1 on a guy that’s sitting the bench and creating drama just be his presence.
And this really isn’t the draft to be taking a QB in round 1,

I'd be maybe a little bit shocked at pick 8, but I could see it after a trade down.
But what about when Stafford is gone next year or more likely the year after? We need to start looking now.
Then you draft one in the first round next year, or maybe 2nd round.
This article talks about the success of QB from the stand point of where they are drafted. Now their measure of success is basically the ability of a player to be a multi-year starter in the league.
Looking at the name in the later rounds....yikes, not much really talent if you ask me.

Then you rebuild and start the process at that point. I don’t see the point in starting now, unless they are absolutely in love with a guy. Which I highly doubt in this class.

All the more reason to at least consider taking one early this year. But yes, only if there is someone you covet. Is next year looking any better for QBs?
