Howard had less than 1.9 YPC vs us last season because they started using him in predictable situations like we did with Blount and Riddick. He was never a threat to catch the ball as he was only targeted 26x last year. I like Josh Adams with Philly and think that going to another running back by committee situation isn't going to help him, he needs to be a full time lead back. If it works out for Philly it's because they have a better OL, Bears were stacked with injuries.
If you want to be a winning team you should keep your cap lean and mean. Giving away players is far better than over paying them.
I agree with the concept that you are saying but....If teams are only willing to give up a 6th round pick a year away, what team is going to break the bank and put themselves in cap hell by signing these players to huge contracts?
