I agree with much of what your saying and you may be right with Killabrew but I can see him as replacement for a LB in the dime to cover a back out of the back feild. BUT when your talking about coverage weather we like it or hate it those FA CB they got are most likely what they think is the fix. And they may take a S in the draft but I think they like Willson Diggs and Walker. That Said That Multi front D I think they got the fix for middle of the flied coverage with the FA slot corner and the LB they just drafted. I think they may be looking at the LB they just got as the Hightower and that may scare many but I think he is going to be that guy in the short middle zones with some safety help over the top.
I lerked around for many moons on the new board but had to chime in on a linebackers since that is what I played at Ohio State. Backers hold a soft place in my heart.
Do me a favor a watch some film on him. Looks like a reach to me. I think here you get a guy that may play some snaps in his first yeat. The film was very underwhelming and seems they are looking at his physical make up. I like Backers too, but not seeing anything stand out on the film.
I saw this kid play and the load of bad angles makes me thing they do not know shit. My biggest knock on the kid is he seemed to react a bit slow but they ran a CRAZY D also.
The YouTube scouting report.... this is a bigtime reach.
Dont expect him to play right away, very raw. Lots of bad angles, but he has the physical tools to be developed. Edge guy, can move well, seems decent in coverage. But very raw and very underwhelming, not much going in the WTF conference they are in out west besides highschool pass happy schemes, little hard to evaluate on limited film.
It's a head scratcher, kinda weird spot to take a developmental player.
Yeah, I don’t see a guy that I’d see is “physical tools” and raw. Saw a guy that played through some physical limitations, not a great athlete, but has a good instincts in run game and ability to get downhill quick as a blitzer.

I think he moves well in the open field, slow to react and bad angles. Got blocked often too. If look at him on the edge rushing and dropping in coverage that's where his physical tools come in. It's a huge reach. I like linebackers but I dont see this kid making any impact. Quillen has lost his mind!

I think perfect world they’d love to be able to use Killebrew in that hybrid role, just not sure he’s much more than a core ST guy at this point.
You may be right they’re gonna ride with Melvin(I like the Coleman signing). Still think they’re going to need more to compensate for middle of the field. Which is why I could see them going S in draft with Diggs flexibility.
They could use Tavai as the Hightower, tough to say. He fits the size profile better. Think that just leaves Davis isolated a little more than you’d like and with the promise he showed blitzing last year he might be better there. Could also see Patricia making that spot a little more interchangable, which would give D an extra wrinkle and harder to identify.

I’m not crazy about pick, though I’ve warmed to it some. But I think you are watching a different player.

I did see him play and likes what I saw. Not sure what they have planned for him but if it is the middle of the field hole filler and run stopper I think he will be fine. If he fails at they we are looking at a new coach in 2020

Hmmm
I dont think hes that bad. I guess we will see if he even makes the team or not after training camp...lol

This draft is fucked up even by Lions standards
I don’t think he’s bad either and I see the fit. Still think they reached a little, but with 3rd being a late 3rd, I get it. Just don’t see a ton of physical traits with him, mainly with athleticism.

Will be interested to see how he does without Gary eating up blocks and taking attention away. But he’s exact kind of guy that would excel in Pats/Lions system.

If Harris can put it together and get on field this season will give D a lot of flexibility. Can play either S spot and can cover slot. All 3 Safeties are super versatile.
