Pats really loved Tavai. Likely why we drafted him when we did. And Manoa bloodline. They are athletic freaks.
Daniel Jeremiah
“It’s always interesting when you look at the family tree in personnel because (Jahlani Tavai) … inside/outside, he can set the edge versus the run. His instincts are a little bit inconsistent. But I was told that the Patriots love this player. So he ends up going to Detroit where they have that Patriot influence. They like the same type of guys. And it’s that versatility they love. He’ll come off the edge one play. He’ll be off the ball. He’ll be in the middle of the field. They use him as a blitzer. He does a nice job of setting the edge. You look at a guy like Kyle Van Noy, whose functioned in that type of system. This is a player you can do a lot of different things with.”
Dane Brugler of the Athletic, one of the league’s foremost draft analysts, had Tavai as his fourth-ranked linebacker and wrote that Tavai “has the size, length and athleticism to be a modern-day NFL defender, moving well laterally, dropping in space or blitzing as an edge rusher.”
Also, Greedy Williams, but he won't be there in the 2nd @11
So it will be an LB from a questionable school IMO, which is better than Metcalf, because wasting a first and second round pick on the passing game is dumb, when we need a RG = JAWAAN TAYLOR
This team is becoming too predictable. An LB from Hawaii, I called it, when Greedy Williams is still on the board. Surely they could have gotten a good LB in the 3rd, but maybe this Taliban kid is good. idk. The point is, before the third round I said they'd pick a Safety that probably won't see the field. HERE YOU GO...
If WILL HARRIS PLAYS a significant role this year, you can all tell me to go to hell, but before then, I am the genius. A TE with the #8 pick, you guys can all stroke each other all night long, but that was the worst pick I have ever seen since PETTIGREW AND EBRON! Ok, I'm calm...but DID we just draft a Van Noy clone? How ironical...YOU CANNOT MAKE THIS UP! Does anyone else find this shit funny? I will watch for Kerryon, Big Play Slay, Davis, Snacks and a few others, but this team is rebuilding again for the 60th year in a row. Salut and if you don't like this post, kiss my dookies, because I spent exactly 25 seconds on it and that's 5 seconds too much to discuss this draft.
I won't say I called it, but I called it. Look for some scrub Safety in the 3rd that won't see the field. What a cluster fuck of a draft. Like I have been saying, Helen Keller could make better picks than the Lions.
If the Lions get a new kicker in the 4th, I'm shutting it all down LOL

The guy is slow as hell. Has high school player speed. From the limited film I have watched, college RBs constantly run around and past this guy. WTF is Quinn thinking? What are they gonna do play the kid inside a phone booth? Good OCs will match up and isolate Slowlani in coverage for big gains. We are fucked!

Will Harris looks good athletic wise. Not much of a ball hawk though and according to some pundits may be suspect in coverage, but a good tackler. Sounds like a faster, slightly smaller, Miles Killibrew.

Bob Quinn is an idiot YES MAN, just like the Ford's want. They want someone that will suck on their teet and keep their mouth shut and that's what we have in Bob Quinn. END OF STORY< It's politics bruh

Greedy Williams fell for a reason. He does not fit most systems that want a tackling corner.
