Nope not a bust the bust are the Detroit Lions for never putting a championship quality team out there. The Ford family needs to sell to someone that has a winning mentality and will keep the team here.
same thing has been said about the browns for the bengals, I think the Lions have the right GM now let's let it play out

I have hope they got this right. I do like Campbell. Reminds me of a young Bill Cowher.
Definitely not a bust. Just didn't live up to the draft status/salary he earned.
That said, Stafford definitely seems to be playing with a swagger he hadn't had in Detroit for years. I'd been saying for years that regardless of everything else, Stafford seemed like a beaten man his last few years in Detroit (understandably so). Could a better quarterback have overcome playing for the shit organization that is Lions and turned it all around? We'll never know.
i think it was more of the Lions not putting a good team around him. they were seriously lacking in bakups that could come in and help win a game. if the lions had current management instead of patricia we could very well have been playing in the SB by now.
Trading Stafford has worked out really well for us.
I think it will be mutually beneficial for both teams in the end. The Rams got the instant gratification with the lucky SB win and the Lions will in a roundabout way get Jameson Williams and a top 5 - 2023 draft pick.

There were windows where there was enough talent but for whatever reason they didn't get it done. In 2014 they had a top 3 defense, Calvin Johnson, Golden Tate...

was that the season with the Dallas playoff game where the LB ran over pettigrew, the refs threw a flag then picked it up because it would have ended the game? Thought that was 2015?

It was ‘14. That team was legit, no one could run on that D. Offense was neutered some by Lombardi. He continues to be really popular, Chargers fans hate him.

It was the 2014 season, but technically that game was in January of 2015. One correction though - that play happened with over 8 minutes left so it wouldn't have ended the game. Dallas went on to score a TD to go up by 4 with over 2 minutes left (thanks in part to a 10 yard Sam Martin punt) to give the Lions a chance to come back but Stafford fumbled in Dallas territory on 4th & 3 to end the game (with still a minute left). As bogus as that non-call was, it's funny how Lions fans seem to forget they were still a long way from winning that game even if they got the call.

I agree for the most part, but it was a massive call. It took away the opportunity to go up 2 scores and simultaneously eat up clock in doing so.
They still had their chance, but it was a bad call and had a big impact on the game.

i thought it was 4-5 mins left...but as badnews points out, it was more about going up 2 scores, or at a minimum only needing an additional fg to win,and killing clock...no, it wouldnt guarantee the win, but it would have gone a long way towards it...

and that Dallas scoring drive was extended twice on 2 defensive holding calls, neither of which meet the definition of defensive holding
