Dear board members:
The word "troll" has been throw around so often on this message board. I think it's high time we have a lesson on what is and isn't considered "trolling."
Example 1:
"People of your ethnicity are dirty, filthy, lazy, no-good rotten gimps."
What it is not: Trolling
What it actually is: HARASSMENT, BIGOTRY
Example 2:
"The recent Star Wars film was unoriginal, slow-paced, and completely devoid of any character development."
What it is not: Trolling
What it actually is: A CRITIQUE
Example 3:
"This sports franchise is a joke. I don't like who they drafted. Run by a bunch of buffoons. [uses win-loss record, lagging ticket sales as support]"
What it is not: Trolling
What it actually is: Editorial, Opinion
Example 4:
Headline: "Lions offering 50% off tickets to children under 13 for Family Day at Ford Field."
Comment: "I don't think they should give children under 13 a free ride. Children are evil. I once tripped on a kid's vomit and had trouble walking afterwards."
What it is not: Serious in any way.
What it is: Trolling. Because some idiot will actually respond to the post, saying "how dare you say that about kids!"
(That guy just got trolled)
That is all, my pupils! Good day to you!
