After every home game Aidan Hutchinson and his family order pizza at one of my restaurants in Plymouth. I felt like giving it to them for free today. Something is truly different about this team.
Does he at least sign the receipt? You could give them out to your employees, might be worth a few bucks in a few years.
Or the employess could use them to try and forge his signature and get the owner sued. LOL
Or is it ownership? I know myself (and most on here) has always said it started at the top with ownership. Sheila at least seems to want to win with profit not being the #1 priority.
That said, the jaded/damaged Lions fan in me still isn't ready to call this "different" but I'm hopeful. But still thinking in the back of my mind it will completely unravel at some point.
I mean, its the same family so hard for me to say ownership. But if you did, id ssy it started with Martha...
Really? I never felt like Martha even had a clue or care what she was doing with the Lions (much like Willy and Junior). But I suppose you could say the ousting of the Fords was the first step in the right direction.

Holmes deserves a ton of credit for this turnaround. No one would have said it at the time, but right now it looks like the Stafford trade would have been a success straight up for Goff the way Goff has been playing, and Goff was considered a throw-in with all the draft picks. He has hit on a high percentage of draft picks. The free agents on show-me deals have performed while Holmes has managed his way out of cap hell, and now there seems to be a vibe in Detroit that will have players wanting to come to Detroit now that they have money to spend.
Sheila has the right mindset and DC is a coach that players want to play for, but Holmes has been the mastermind behind all of this.
Notable: Wil Harris got blown up last week. HE didn't play here. Shows how adept this coaching staff is. Previous years he would have probably kept playing and giving up big plays over and over

Or is it a different process this group uses? Let's take a look at the way Quinn/Patricia ran things- 1). Bring in veterans as free agents to plug holes, etc. 2). Rookies usually sat, didn't play or had very limited role. Look at Chase Lucas, Jerry Jacobs, Kerby Joseph, Malcolm Rodriguez - they are letting these guys get there feet under them and yes, Joseph had a couple bad games, Jacobs has had some penalties but LET THEM PLAY AND LEARN. Experience will weed out who can play and who cannot. Campbell and his coaches let these guys play, learn and then make adjustments with them. 3). Quinn/Patricia drew players THEY KNEW from a system. This group doesn't care where you came from, you just gotta have the want to get better and play hard, nobody cares if you are a "SYSTEM" guy. 4). Coaches working with players and listening to them, not degrading them. Anthony Lynn is gone because it was "his system". Ben Johnson spent time with Goff and gives him "end user input" which gets buy-in. Patricia told Slay to stop "sucking the BLANK" of other players - seriously? Campbell treats each guy with respect, even when he cuts them. Watch Hard Knocks and watch the cuts. Watch the post game when Skipper played guard - look at the love for back of the roster guys who step in. Campbell is a leader, not a dictator like Quinn/Patricia.
Overall, a nice rebound. Now, we have to go finish this. I do believe though we have our QB whether we like it or not. When Goff plays well with his full complement of weapons, you see the potential. Go get a stud LB, another corner and a DT/DE and the defense gets better.
i would add that we need another RB. Cant count on Swift. need a RB that can get more touches without sitting out because of a hang nail. keep williams and jackson as compliments and draft Corum and the offense is set.

I always said this. We all know the schemes we had here through the years and varioua coaches and coordinators. Run and shoot, WCO, Tampa 2, Greatest show on turf, Wide 9..etc etc etc
We are seeing the first time coordinators are scheming to the players abilities and making week to week adjustments.
Along with all the other stuff...build in the draft, culture etc.

The ownership is letting MCDC Holnes and staff to run the show. There you go. This coaching staff is gold and down to Earth. That comes from MCDC. Coach is a solid madman. And Tech. Dont give them free pizza. They can afford it. Just make sure the pizzas are made the best. People get soft when they get free shit. Lol

Im usually quick to point out ref BS when they inevitabley fuck the Lions...however...im more convinced of the ref BS now....
Lions first game after the highest rated thanksgiving game, as they are in the hunt for wildcard, meaning more attention and drama for NFL...they got some pretty big ref love that i would be irate about if i were the vikes or their fans...2 calls in peticular....the jefferson non-td...sorry, but that was a td....the other was the jackson td...he was outside the pylon...
More convinced than ever the refs are complicit in affecting games for the nfl rating....

The Jefferson one, I was wondering if the issue was they blew the whistle which kills the play. They never talked about it on the broadcast, but they were awful. They kept talking about the Lions getting 2 for 1 before the half, except the Vikings were getting the ball.
I thought Jackson got in initially but didn’t play that close attention. Would have been 1st and goal and the half yard line. I’d equate that to the terrible PI on Okudah in the end zone when Theilen just stopped running on a borderline uncatchable ball and then the refs threw the flag after he bitched about it. Either way both teams were scoring in that spot.
Also still amazed at the taunting call. Not that they called taunting, seen worse not called but I get it, but they didn’t call offsetting when the Vikings player took his helmet and smashed it into the other guys helmet in retaliation.

On McAfee this week MC/DC said on the fake punt he told Fipp "Don't run the fake" into the mic, but he hit the button too late so Fipp only heard "Run the fake." He also said on the Sewell motion call BJ was talking in his ear about the call but he was preoccupied by the wave the crowd was doing. I don't buy either of those anecdotes.

I thought it was pretty clear he was joking on both those things. I think he likes to play up the I’m just a meathead thing that he got portrayed as.

Yeah once he did the second one I figured that. I think one of the guys even later said there wasn't even a wave going at the time.
at this point either Philly or SF will be in the SB. with SB winners not repeating im rooting for SF to win it this year. I think philly is a one year wonder. The Lions could compete next year but IMO SF or LA Rams will be the ones to beat next season. so get SF out of the way this season.
With SF winning tonight it really helps the lions. the jets game is a must win. that would be huge.
