And I'm sure coaching has a lot to do with it.
I've seen very few QBs with that knack for intentionally grounding without drawing the penalty. The way he zips that ball to the ground a mere foot away from the receiver's leg, yet away from any defender ... actually requires some pinpoint accuracy.
Goff seems to have developed that voice in his head that says "This play is toast. Just try to avoid the negative yards and we'll get another shot next play." His INTs seem to have gone down for the same reason. Give credit to the coaching staff for working with him on this stuff. It's just what his game needed.
.@lions QB @jaredgoff16 has not thrown an INT in 219 consecutive passes. This establishes a new franchise record and serves as the longest active streak in the @nfl.
He is the first Lions QB to go 6-straight starts without producing a turnover.
They taught him to get rid of the ball, don't try to extend plays. This had more to do with his fumbles than int's.
In the last two games, quarterback Jared Goff has dropped back to pass 77 times. The offensive line has not given up a single sack. The comfort zone for quarterbacks is in the Detroit Lions pocket. – Mike O'Hara
So, the OL hasn't given up a sack because the QB has made sure that it wasn't going to happen. Int's are down, fumbles are down and sacks are down, amazing how all those things are related.

He’s cleaned up his drops, too. He was hanging his OT’s out to dry early in the season by turning 7 step drops into 10-11 and 5 step into 7-8. He seems to have stopped drifting.
