Would you rather have the Lions win the last two games but without knowing that winning those two games guarantee a playoff spot?
Or
Have the Rams lose the remaining two games, but the Lions are not guaranteed a better draft pick?
Either scenario will probably help the Lions either get to the playoffs or have a top 5 draft pick, but we are just rolling the dice of which you would rather see.

Thats a tough one, but I think I have to go with Rams losing because the likelihood is that it lowers the draft pick, thus increasing odds of improving the Lions for the long term. As important as I think getting a taste of the playoffs is for the Lions, I dont think they have the horses to take it all the way, so I would prefer they have an increased chance to get the necessary pieces to take it all the way...
I would like to see the Lions win, and still believe they can earn the 7th seed in the playoffs. Our young team needs the playoff experience. To see a higher level of gameplay and competition the playoffs provide. It would show them where they are lacking and go a long way to improving the team.

If the last two games weren't against the fucking Bears and fucking Packers, I would go with option #2. However, FUCK the bears and especially FUCK the packers. I root for those two franchises to lose every week, anyway. If it is the Lions beating them, no other incentive is required, because, did I mention FUCK the bears and especially FUCK the packers?
win. beating the peckers twice would be fantastic and we actually will have dominated the North division beating the bears and packers both times and splitting with the vikings.

With the holidays I recorded the game and have not bothered watching it, what is the point. The clips I saw were terrible and just in some cases lack of discipline on defense.
I get it that we lack talent on defense, but the OL also under performed. For many years we have seen the Lions open up the run with the pass and have not really seen that the Lions can do that.
I'm for winning, this team and these coaches still need to learn now to win and be consistent week to week.
i think the field conditions played a big role in how the game happened. 2nd half we pretty much score point for point with carolina. 1st half we sucked. regardless. we are still in it so theres that.

They sucked both halves. And I don't buy the field conditions argument. Both teams had the same conditions and it's not like Carolina is accustomed to that.

I think that Carolina just exploited a weakness on defense that other teams hadn't really figured out the last few weeks. The Lions were able to plug it up a little in the second half as they didn't give up nearly as much in the 2nd half.
Campbell and Glenn need to clean it up if they are to pull a win this weekend. Good thing the Bears are one dimensional with Fields. After that they have nothing and their defense is poor.

im not sure it was a new thing...we saw glimpses of lions getting gashed in the run game earlier in the season...i would also add carolina had a few 200+ yd rushing games this season, so that was also their strength...so put strength on a big weakness and there you go...

More so before the bye. I was just talking about the 3 games after Thanksgiving, those teams just didn't do much.
Since the bye they got run a bit in all their losses, but it is kind of all over the place. Like the Cowboys only had 107 on them, but the Bears had 258 (147 which was Fields). But against Jags, Vikes and Jets they only ran 168 combined.

Shut down Saquon, too. Run D had been one of the best in the league over past 6 weeks. It all just fell apart Saturday. A lot of bad habits came back, some bad scheme, and just a lack of toughness in some regards.
