Of course I don’t think they NFC is all that good this year, either.
I have to disagree. Interconference play is pretty even. AFC East was the dominant Division in the AFC and the NFC North played them almost even. NFC east absolutely dominated everybody. I see the Eagles winning the Superbowl over the Bills.
I think the Eagles are one of the best teams in the league. I just don’t think that much of the rest of the NFC teams. The Eagles are in the mix with Buffalo, KC, and Cincy. Then I think everyone else is kind of in the same bowl of hoping to get hot at the right time.
San Fran has a great D and I’ll think they’ll beat Seattle, because I don’t think Seattle is very good, but I also don’t think SF got tested much. They had the easiest schedule in the league. Of course I don’t think they NFC is all that good this year, either.
Seattle is horrible. I think SF is happy they don't have to play Lions or GB.

ive penciled in 9ers v Bills...that 9er D is straight legit and they have some weapons in O too...

Wouldn’t shock me. Niners-Eagles would be fun NFCC. Strength against strength.
When I was watching the Seattle vs Rams game, it was the first time in I don't remember how many years, I had butterflies and anxiety during a football game. I really didn't think I would feel like that again. I can finally say I had a very good time watching the Lions this year and look forward to next season.

We have had some successful teams in recent history, but it was all fools gold.
This time around the way the team is being built as far as approach with FA, drafts, scheme.... it is much different.
I think the team with Suh and Company was real, but Suh leaving and upper management destroyed that team quickly...that wasnt fools gold, that was poor leadership
thing i like best is we arent paying big bucks to get a bunch of free agents. lobe the one year deals. and im surprised how quickly the draft picks have contributed and werent busts. top to ottom they are drafting well.

The OL sucked and they could not run the ball
Take away Calvin you beat the Lions, they were one dimensional on offense and absolutely horrendous in short yardage and in the red zone. Those defenses were really good. But the offense even with the best WR in the game, could not get it done.
The FO was also a mess...shitty drafting, shitty cap, shitty FA's. bad contracts
It was a fun season. One of the most fun seasons in my fandom (which goes back to the early 80's). Sure, the Barry years were fun, but you always kind of knew those teams weren't built to go far in the playoffs. 2014 was probably the best opportunity for a Super Bowl, and we all know how that went. This win in GB might be the biggest win for the organization in the last 40 years (which is pretty pathetic to think about).
Hot take - Seattle winning in week 18 was the best thing that could happened to the organization. I think with the playoffs not on the line, the Lions played looser and more fearless and maybe don't beat GB in that alternate universe, and we don't have them going out on such a high note with momentum going into next season. If the Lions lose to GB there with the playoffs on the line, whether you believed it or not there would have been a SOL narrative heading to the offseason.
Would probably be fun to go back and look at the comments on this board after week 7.

Their fukk-up was they were so sure Suh was gonna re-sign and had no contingency plan. I even said on this board at the time if there is any doubt of Suh re-signing, they need to draft Aaron Donald.

There was a number of issues with the way things went with that team Mayhew built, but the old rookie contract structure was brutal and a big factor in how some things played out. Would be interested to see how those things went if they had the rookie wage scale with Calvin, Stafford and Suh.
