The fact that Buggs will be inactive for week 1 probably bodes well for Levi's standing on the depth chart.
speaking of Buggs...how's everyone feel about his recent drama? I think it was shitty and he blew a competitive advantage, however small it may have been...

I’m more concerned with what happened. I’m assuming he just got passed on the depth chart and didn’t handle it well, but saw some people say he had some wild tweets come out in the middle of the night that he deleted, too. Then he deleted everything Lions related from all his social media. Weird from a guy that was a leader last year and was asking to come back.
Maybe Buggs signing that new contract took some hunger from his play. They sat him because as McDc said, "we're playing the best players that have proved themselves in practice. It's all about the tape. End of story." Maybe Coach felt Buggs was slacking. If not well, it's an in house issue and so far he's still on the team last I checked. I know or have known some semi pro football players and every one smoked weed to cope with pains. Maybe Buggs fell into a team infraction thing. Smoked where he wasn't supposed to? That's just a guess but I wouldn't doubt it's his slack play or something like that or being disrespectful to players
I thought I read something about him missing a meeting.
He said something about missing voluntary workouts, but I’m not sure that adds up. One pretty sure they would be a CBA violation that could get Lions in trouble if they found any proof and I think other guys missed some time too.
“We base everything off the tape. Period,” Campbell said. “So, I’ve spoken to Buggs and that stays between us. But, yeah, we feel like we’re (using) the guys that are best prepared to go this week for this game. Those are the guys that’ll be up.”
Just sounds to me like he's been slacking a little bit...or just got out-practiced..

A lot of drama being stirred up here. Buggs was never that good, truth be told. He's a big body who chews up space and there's no other real dimension to it. Against Mahomes, I'm imagining they want to roll with the guys who can move. Buggs doesn't have any real "move." Levi definitely does. Martin does.
Buggs is probably a little banged up, had an illness, made his girl broke up with him (his twitter drama from the weekend), and don't the Campbell Lions usually scratch a DT most weeks and he just seemed like the easiest candidate at this time. Only confusing thing is why announce at the beginning of the week of practice going into the season opener.

I think that's the drama part...Buggs tweeted out all crypto weird and deleted all reference to lions. When asked he said it was because he was benched. Lions didn't announce it, he did, like a child throwing a tantrum...causing all this drama for no reason...grown ass man crying out for attention on twit..errr, X...stupid...

He was quoted as saying it had nothing to do with the Lions.
From Lionswire:
Buggs also downplayed the ambiguously ominous social media posts that sent Lions fans agog over the weekend.
“It’s nothing to address, to be honest,” Buggs said. “It’s nothing to address. Like I say, things change, relationships change. There’s nothing to address, honestly,” Buggs said. “I’m just saying in life, period. It’s nothing dealing with football. It’s nothing dealing with here (the Lions). I’m just saying, so I don’t want anybody to take that context and run with it. But at the same time, relationships do change. That’s all I’m going to say, it’s nothing else to say about that.”
Doesn't sound that way to me based on what you quoted.
I guess you can choose not to believe the words out of his mouth.
Maybe he is bitter, maybe that will motivate him. Not sure the Lions dress more than 4 interior DL with the way they run their defense. Knowing MCDC's style, he plays the guys who have the passion as well as talent.

Actually just saw the interview where he said this stuff. He is 100% a bitter man and it's 100% about his benching.
You got bitter from watching that? we live in 2 different world. He sounded pretty professional to me, but disappointed he wouldn't be playing this week. But I didn't get bitter.

Sure, he was professional, but your statement was that it "had nothing to do with the Lions." It obviously had everything to do with his benching. On the Lions.

I think it's more along the lines of his being a competitor who does a lot of the unselfish grunt work, and he's feeling like "What more do you want me to do?" It's a perfectly natural reaction, and people just enjoy blowing things out of proportion because they're bored and feed off drama.
