Calling it now. GB wins the division and this game keeps the Lions out of the playoffs...again
Lol @ all the hand-wringing going on right now. Just about everyone expected us to be 1-1 right now. The win and the loss didn't happen against the expected opponent, but we're still right where we thought we would be. 3 turnovers is the reason for this loss. Period. Turnover margin of -3 equals a 17% chance of winning. Throw in one of those turnovers being returned for a TD, and the chance drops to less than 10%. Very winnable game, and likely an easy victory without those turnovers.

Bad loss today. lions defense still has weaknesses despite additions (could be an AG problem, TBD on that). Goff was solid other that that pick six which was totally on him but he still outperformed that one bad play.
I don’t think Seattle played this well last week. Surprised by the lack of QB pressure or their back up tackles must be better than their starters.
This entire division is garbage. I ain’t counting anyone out other than the Bears, they are terrible.
Rethinking some decisions ..not sure going for it every fourth down is good...some early fgs would have made a difference but second guessing sucks. I'm just speechless really. Wanted this one but despite the pick six being down 10 late they came back to force OT so that's pretty resilient or dare I say gritty

I watched game again this morning. Not really less frustrating, but with day removed, I do think we maybe overreacted to Seattle’s week 1 loss. They’re a decent team.
Goff was almost perfect and threw some absolute dimes. The pass to St.Brown before the half, threaded a couple to Reynolds. And those are passes I don’t think he was throwing with the same confidence last year. I’m not sure how to blame the pick 6. Campbell said he’d have to watch it because he thought Gibbs should have sat down, but if that’s the case it wasn’t open and shouldn’t have been thrown. Was a potential big play if he continues to lead Gibbs. Think the biggest issue was Goff looked rushed from pressure and his arm may have gotten hit as he was throwing. That late hit he took was wild by the way, might have been one of the most egregious I’ve seen in a while. Like a solid 3-4 seconds after ball was released.
With that, Nelson was good enough. He let up the pressure on that pick 6 and had a couple other missteps, but other than that, he held his own.
Hopefully Montgomery is back quickly, they need him in there. Hopefully Vaitai, too. I’m sure Glasgow can hold it down, but Vaitai has looked really good.
LaPorta looked great as a reciever, couple bad missed blocks but they’re asking a lot of him. And may have to keep it up because Brock Wright had a really bad day.
I think Glenn deserves some heat. He’s gotta figure out a way to adjust some things when it’s not working, but….guys gotta make some plays, too. Two back-up OT’s and they never touched Geno Smith until the end and it was because of a dumb play by Geno. Your edges have to be able to win some of those battles. Interior wasn’t any better and when they kicked Hutch and Cominsky inside there wasn’t much difference.
Run D looks good, Walker earned every yard he got. I’d guess a huge chunk of them came after contact and that contact was close to thr LOS. Derrick Barnes has looked awesome.
Secondary had a bad day. Didn’t get any help from DL, but they didn’t do much either way.
I figured CJGJ would burn them at some point with a dumb PF, came in the second game. That’s the rub with him, he’ll make plenty of plays to make you forget. But that was a dumb one.
Refs sucked. Not the reason for loss, but they sucked.
I don’t have any issue with the 4th downs Campbell went for. Felt within the context of the game, they made sense and there was plenty of opportunities left for the team. I do wish they were a little more aggressive trying to score on that last drive. I know there’s a balance between trying to score and not giving Seattle the ball back with time on the clock, but felt they were a little to content to get 3 and not put it away.

Goff is way more poised now than he was his first year in Detroit.

Not sure how there's any way you can blame Gibbs on that one. The terrible drop in the first half on the other hand...that was a potential game changer.

The only one I strongly disagreed with was the one at the end of the 3rd quarter on their own 45. Up by 4 at that point - punt it away and make them go the distance.
There is some good discussion and analysis here, since we've been following this team forever seemingly, but I think we can all agree we are a pretty damn good football club talent wise, just need to clean things up and gel a bit more. Man if somehow Goff could have led Gibbs that'd been sweet...I know the play before they showed Gibbs wide open, Goff just didn't see him as he was hurried and all. Maybe he forced it knowing he missed him before.....whatever the case this was a tough one but I like this team and think they can get some serious streaks going.
