I know PFF grades are kinda' hit and miss, but this is concerning.
Five-lowest graded defenders (with enough snaps): DL Benito Jones (35.3) DL Alim McNeill (43.8) EDGE Charles Harris (48.2) DL John Cominsky (49.9) CB Jerry Jacobs (51.2)
We did upgrade one CB spot in the off-season, which is a step in the right direction. Rolling with an injured guy at the other seems par for the course (and it's worked out SO WELL for us at other positions )
We're miles ahead at LB.
Interior D-Line continues to haunt us.
This is still a good team and the defense is a little better. I think they'll create more turnovers (I think there will be more to come on that front), and will beat other teams in the fourth quarter due to their ability to rotate fresh pass rushers (provided we don't lose them all to injury).
Jordan Davis still limited on snaps but had 17 snaps Thursday night in run situations. Jalen Carter was a problem for the Viking up the middle. Man, the eagle or more specifically the DTs kept Vikings to 28 yards rushing. They literally couldn't run. Jalen Carter...damn

Seattle couldn’t run either. The Lions have let up 90 and 85 yards in the first 2 games and are allowing 3.6 YPC. And if you take out the QB scrambles it’s even lower. Walker averaged 2.5 yards per carry, Pacheco, 2.9, CEH 3.7. Run D is looking good.
Now getting any push in pass rush, different story. Though that was a much bigger issue this week than it was week 1.
Oh I'm not dogging my Lions. This is probably the best Lions team we all have seen in maybe decades. The potential is there. The kinks as well. Time to figure it out hut sky is still the limit. I like our d

I think Houston has gotten a bit overrated. He’s shown he could be very good at one thing. But even then, he flashed over last half of the season. He’s a situational player right now. You dress 46 and those type of of guys play special teams.

He was a big part of our pass rush last season and a big reason for the defensive success. This were changing his role more and putting him in coverage and on special teams.
If it ain't broke don't fix it.They should have double down on what was working last season on defense. Now we have no pass rush..no identity on defense and our top pass rusher gone. Secondary has been a mess and now you losse the best rushing LB on the roster. He was in lockable last season.

He was good last season, but he’s still one-dimensional. It’s why he’s still sees limited snaps. He’s a plus when you can pin your ears back and pass rush(and I don’t think he has been great there through first 2 games), but he’s a liability outside of that. He’s a situational player and those guys play special teams. That’s reality.
