I'm okay with Gibbs/Reynolds for a game or 2, but who knows if Gibbs is even coming back this week and you never know with hamstring injuries - easy to reinjure if you come back too early. Reynolds is nice, but he's not Montgomery. I wouldn't trust him on 3rd & short to move the chains consistently like Montgomery does.

Maybe not like Montgomery, but if the O-line does it's job, he'll get the yards. Vaitai holds the key there. If he can come back close to 100, and we're able to roll with Glasgow and Vaitai at the Guards, then I'm not worried. Reynolds has great timing, trusts his blockers and has a knack for finding the creases.

Trading for Henry (or any high caliber RB) would be a bad decision. But Vic, I'm proud of you for at least throwing out some ideas (it's okay if they're not your own).

Man...im not really down for trading for a RB, but if one were to be traded for, Henry might be my choice...that dude is a game changer on this O...that would be so sick

I think people are pretty much on the same page of how important this offense is and run game especially. Not many teams in this era you can say that about, but the Lions is one of them.

Stay tuned for my doctorial thesis on the matter since Blaming Brad does not have a life and really needs something to do and on a Lions message board that is so important to him

This doctoral thesis aims to provide a holistic understanding of why the Detroit Lions should pursue a trade for a running back, with a specific emphasis on the potential acquisition of Derrick Henry. Through an extensive analysis of performance metrics, historical data, and expert opinions, it will offer a comprehensive evaluation of the strategic importance of this decision for the franchise's future. The study will also explore the broader implications for the NFL and the evolving dynamics of player trades in professional sports.
Looking at the this team, how it's built, and the offensive scheme.
I still say for the Lions, despite them drafting Gibbs a stable of big backs are mandatory.
I cannot say that about other teams, but without Montgomery there is a drop off and changes what this offense can do. If they think this is the year, they go out and see if they can add a big back.
Gibbs still has a role and can be explosive. But if we get into the play offs, aking Goff to do what he did versus the top NFC teams and essentially be the offense is a tough ask. The defense will not hold up, Mayfield should have had at least 2 more TDs is he was a better passer and minus the deflection on Buggs.

I think it's a lot more reasonable to simply ask more out of the offensive line. They've proven themselves capable. If they can't open holes for a guy with as much natural talent as Gibbs, then they're vastly overrated. Plain and simple as that.
Only beef I have with Gibbs is his blocking. He can grind out short yardage with a little blocking, if asked. Once he's moving forward full-steam, he's hard to bring down.

The only concern regarding the OL is injuries
Vatai is often hurt Ragnow has a bum foot Decker is up there in age A lot of the back ups are hurt now too.
Thankfully they brought Glasgow back but after him there is quite a drop off. The kid they started at OG (too lazy to look up the name) A..something. he had a ROUGH game.
