The defense has been fine overall. Turnovers are the killer.
We must be watching different games
Defense wasn't great, but take away the 4 turnovers and it's not an issue. Defense was also on the field for 40 minutes. I know part of that was because of the defense but 4 turnovers also contributed to that. Campbell had a really bad game.

Agreed. A bunch of those PI/illegal contact calls were ticky-tack, for sure, which had a big impact on not getting off the field. The picks after long Bear drives never allowed the D to catch their breath.

This game encapsulated every Lions game I can ever remember in my 45+ years of watching this team, except this time the roles were reversed. I have watched the Lions lose soooo many times exactly the way the Bears did today. It is so refreshing to experience it from the other side.

Just finished the game. That was wild.
Also NFL refs are fucking terrible. That first PI on Harris was insanely bad. Ball was nowhere near catchable. The first illegal contact on Branch was awful, too.

Yeah, the whole uncatchable thing seems to be out the window. That ball was 3 yards out of bounds so you can't even say he could have recovered and caught it without the foul. But Harris should also know to just let it go.
Looks like the defense was not great again, refs wanted Vegas to cover the spread.
Fields ran all over as expected. Lipns had a lot of trouble stopping the run. Need another DT bad!
Bears defense took away middle of the field and Goff kept on throwing there and got picked. 3rd quarter is still a rough spot for the Lions. Jamo making big plays!

Lions had trouble stopping Fields running the ball. Did not have too many issues with the Bears RBās. They had 22 for 78.

Goff had a real bad day, great 4th quarter. Man he played like shit for the first 3 though. Threw ugly balls, missed some line adjustments on blitzes, just bad.
Jack Campbell sucked today.
St. Brown needs to enter the elite WR conversation.
The Montgomery/Gibbs combo is so good. That play call on the Gibbs TD by Johnson was magical.
The game management by Campbell and staff this year has been excellent.

This is why they really should not extend him.
First INT by Goff wasn't his fault. Bears defense played very well and every player has an occasional bad game. I have never seen a QB have such a bad game and remain so cool, calm and collected and then lead his team to a victory like that. The Lions are very lucky to have Goff and he is a true professional.

He also threw another that should have been picked and just some ugly passes yesterday.
But I do agree, the way he bounced back and was able to shut out the first 3 quarters and win that game is something thatās hard to do. And a couple years ago, no way would he have been able to do that.

Not to go all Ted Lasso here, but Goff truly exhibits the goldfish mentality. It is an extremely rare trait.
From Doug Collettiā¦ Since 1932, no #NFL team with a +3 turnover margin & 40min time of possession had EVER lost that game. Teams were 48-0 until the #Bears lost today. Itās not an overstatement to call this a historic loss. @espn1000

Fully expected for this quote to say, "except the Detroit Lions, who have managed to do it four times..."
