Still kind of wild that the Lions are a win from the Super Bowl.
No Jonah, had surgery to repair meniscus today. Brock Wright is out with broken forearm. Lions signed Zach Ertz to PS today. Getting Kalif back would be a nice boost, too.

Sucks that Jonah is out. The Lions Oline seems unstoppable when all 5 starters are in there. Once he went down and Awosika came in and they started giving up pressure. Seems weird that just one guy could cause that.
I have a feeling we are not going to see the Oline keep up with San Frans defense. But I can never underestimate how well this team prepares for teams. The Lions have a shot, albeit an outside one. I don't see a blowout, but a close game. Unless CMC just destroys them, then a rout could be on.

"Let's not start sucking each other's dicks just yet," Harvey Keitel in Pulp Fiction.
And, yes Jonah Jackson - one O line guy can make a difference. The silver lining there is he gets to work all week with the #1 guys. Hopefully Awoskia is ready. What really scares me isn't McCaffery as much as our DB's defending. If Deebo doesn't play I'll be surprised but they have weapons regardless. Not sure what's up with Jerry JAcobs but we need all DB's on deck.
I am kind of holding my excitement at bay. I don't want to jinx anything, but if they BEAT FAGGY FRISCO (had to say it) and actually get into the SB then I'll lose my shit. Maybe it's still processing, but were ONE GAME away from the Super Bowl. That is mind blowing. So just hunker down and play them tough. Not sure much has to change. I see Goff playing well at home unless there's a lot of rain. I see our Lions starting strong and having to keep Frisco at BAY the rest of the game. It will WILD for sure. So no predictions. Just going to enjoy this one. Anything can happen
Hopefully these guys can recoup and heal up a bit. Ragnow in particular. He should just take a nap for three days I think.

Not sure how consistent NoCal weather is in winter. But forecast for Santa Clara is high of 72 and partly cloudy. So doesn't sound like weather should be an issue.
Yeah, I think I'm at peace with whatever the outcome. Although I don't want a blowout, that would suck.
Even if they don't make/win the Super Bowl, this team seems to be headed in the right direction with a good young core and a front office that seems to know what they're doing.
I hate to bring this up. But if we come short I am really concerned about OC next year. I hope they have a back up OC on deck learning the ropes because the chances of us needed a new OC is very very high.

Yea we have a guy ready to step in. He's coached under Harbaugh at Stanford and has coached some really high-scoring offenses.
He's been working w/ Tight Ends. And they've been about the best-coached unit on the team. And passing game coordinator. That's been pretty good too.

Tanner Engstrand. We talked about him last offseason when we thought BJ would be gone. He's very raw so who knows. I would hope they've had someone working under Johnson's wing all season, whether him or someone else. There is also Mark Brunell who supposedly has a great relationship with Goff.
Of course, there is also the concern that BJ takes any of these guys with him to his new team.

I read something last night about Johnson possibly taking Fraley as his OC. That concerns me more than any other guy.
With the way they’ve promoted Engstrand kind of on the same path as Johnson, I’d imagine if he’s the succession plan, there’s an agreement that Johnson wouldn’t try to bring him.

Honestly, I'm not too worried about losing our coordinators at this point. Campbell has proven to be a coach that lifts up his supporting coaches. Given the culture that has been built here, I think Detroit has become a destination for coaches and free agents alike. I don't think we will have any difficulty finding high quality replacements for anyone that wants to leave. I trust Holmes and Campbell to find guys that will fit with what they are building here.

Bull fucking shit! We need one more fucking win! Just one. We haven't made a super bowl since the invention of super bowls. More people remember the moon landing then a winning Lions team. The last championship the Lions won came 14 years before Alabama football became segregated. We came to far to give the ole well whatever the outcome I'm happy....fuck that and fuck all you mofos who think we did just fine and dandy. This ain't gonna happen every year....we need one more fucking win...I don't care. Beat Frisco. You all are acting like we're going to lose. Fuck that. GB gave Frisco all it could handle. We can do this so please with sugar on top quit acting like a bunch of happy losers. I won't be happy if we lose. I just want to get into the fucking Super Bowl. Just once in my lifetime. Just once mofos!! And fuck you all who are just peachy keen with things the way they are if we lose. I want Brock Purdys head on a stick
Don't fuck with Trump lol Leave Trump alone. That said it looks like LaPorta could be a scratch. We will see. Ragnow says he feels good but Laporta I think if he can walk he'll go. Jonah is out. Brock wright broke his arm. James Mitchell is having surgery. So that ertz guy might see some balls if they ok him
LaPorta will play. ertz will play and have a big impact. hes not a backup tight end. main thing is stop McCaffery and they will use him on screens a lot. need to plant someone on him.
