He brought up Birkett wanting a QB in that first draft, but I get the feeling the local guys took some shots for the shit the national media gave the Holmes for this past years draft.

Personally I don't think it's a great look for Holmes cashing receipts like that this early in the process with no Super Bowl ring. Shows a little insecurity.

I thought it was pretty light-hearted.
I only watched the clip posted here, not the entire presser, but I didn't get that vibe at all. The fact that he was able to specifically point out that one dude that thought the Iffy pick was a miss 3 years ago tells me he might be a little obsessed with holding receipts.
It's all good though as long as he keeps drafting the way he has been.

Think it was Carlos who bashes everything, so that was an easy shot. I’m sure he remembers what some writers say. It’s not that hard, I’m sure we can remember some of what other posters wanted to do in drafts from longer ago than 2021. Maybe he has them pinned up in his office as motivation, who knows? I didn’t take it as that serious, though. Felt like he was just trying to make a point that there’s a plan and you have to let it play out.
Of course it seemed some of those writers got a little sensitive, which isn’t shocking. Sports writers might be some the thinnest skinned people alive.
We came up short, a few head scratchers with some of the coaching decisions and lucky bounces for the 49ers
But its been a great season fellas, great to hear from the die hards and old friends, it's been a great ride.
We have a solid young core of players and if they handle the coordinators hires correctly we could be right back here next year.
I'm from the Chicago Bears messageboard and just wanted to stop by your forum here and congratulate you all for an amazing season. It sure looks like the Lions are building something special. I was so enjoying watching the team (LOL, but wasn't a fan when the Bears were playing you)... but I sure was pulling for the Lions to make it to the super bowl. Anyway, congrats.
