Could be an issue. How much is Harrison making? I think it’s less than Daniels now so that’s got to piss Harrison off. They need to lock up Harrison, he’s more important than Daniels but I think they signed Daniels so they can try to keep Harrison’s cheap and if he doent like it they’ll let him walk.

Lions cut Riddick to make room.
Not sure I’m a fan of that. Money not an issue, even with Daniels signing. May not have as much of a role in new offense, but still had some 3rd down value. Ty Johnson or Zenner will likely have a role.
What a difference a year makes the DL adding Harrison, Daniels and Flowers while only losing Ansah, they've went for the DL being a big weak spot to a unit that on paper is top 5 or 10 in the league, it's time for Patricia to prove he can call defense like he did in NE.
Riddick being released is interesting, he didn't have much of the explosiveness that he had in the past it's possible he is damaged goods, they also had a log jam at RB I still think I would rather have him than CJ Anderson but this clears the way for Ty Johnson to make the team and maybe fill that receiving back role if he develops.

Saw a note yesterday that Riddick didn’t take a single rep with 1’s the first days of camp. Possible his role just wasn’t going to be as big and add in possibly losing a step and I can see it. I’d rather wait until later in camp to see how things shake out, but possible they’re giving him more time to catch on with another team.
A Shawn still not in camp. Could it be that Daniels was signed and Ashawn might be getting traded? Just a thought.
It's just a one year contract, unless Daniel's love of Patricia is that deep I can't see him as long term solution at DT 31 years old vs. A'Shawn's 24.
The Detroit Lions made a Friday night splash by reportedly signing Pro Bowl defensive tackle Mike Daniels to a 1-year $9.1 million deal.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Daniels was offered and turned down more money from other teams so that he could play in Detroit because he wanted to play for coach Matt Patricia.
You read that correctly, just a year after it was reported that Patricia had lost the locker room, he has suddenly become a coach Pro Bowlers from other teams — division rivals at that — want to come play for.
The truth of the matter is, that false narrative was an overblown story that too many people on a national level believed.
Wanting to play for Patricia isn’t an isolated situation either. Just this past offseason, when Trey Flowers was a free agent looking for a new home, Patricia was a big reason he landed with the Lions.
