I predict a 12-5 record and the NFC North Champions. Looks like Jordan Love might have a pretty bad injury and the Packers were going to be the main Competition. Minnesota and Chicago are unknowns as their QB situations are really unpredictable. Chicago is boom or bust with their rookie QB, If he is "Stroudlike" then look out. Minnesota has Sam Darnold. That could be a surprise....maybe.

I’m uncomfortable with all the positive attention and Super Bowl predictions, but the talent and depth is there.
Yeah, it seems like the Lions are being picked by the talking heads to make the Super Bowl or win it more than any other team, including the Chiefs. Even Simmons and Cousin Sal both have the Lions in the Super Bowl and they notoriously trash them.

eh...lions, chiefs, 49ers, ravens...flip a coin (twice?) Which they talk about most...but nice to be in the conversation for once
A tough game will be the Seahawks week 4. They've been an Achilles heal and I hope so intently that we crush their souls, especially for keeping us from the playoffs two years ago and beating us last year. We need to smack them mofos.

You can't overlook any team in this league.
Agree with this 100%
Seattle has had the Lions number for years
That being said 12-5 sounds about right. The defence still scares me a bit. I’m not asking for a lot, if they end up being average the Lions should end up I deep in the payoffs again and in good shape . I want to see what Tim Patrick and Allen Robinson can bring.
It’s amazing to me that everyone is worried about the 3rd receiver

I’m less worried about 3rd WR and more worried about the depth. When Jamo went down Sunday night, we were real close to seeing Williams or Kennedy playing a lot of snaps.
I do think it matters, though. The Lions spent 63% of their snaps in 11 personnel last year. I like Kalif but I don’t think he’s a WR that demands that kind of usage and that can change teams defensive game plans.
3 other teams played teams they beat in playoffs the previous year to open season. all 3 won those two games. Detroit is next and all 3 went on to win championships.
The 2007 New England Patriots, 1984 San Francisco 49ers and 1966 Green Bay Packers won NFL titles after starting seasons with two consecutive games against postseason opponents from the previous year.
