Zero reason to throw the ball 55 times today. I just don't understand how Montgomery only gets 11 carries and only 25 rushes total. Ben Johnson's stock is way down right now.
DC's gaff at the end of the 2nd half running out the FG unit versus spiking the ball. That doesn't happen we win. I was calling this out last season with DC...for all his strengths, the game/clock management is an issue!
Not the best day for BJ with the play calling. I'd bring in Montgomery and pound the rock and play action. Getting too cute. Get LaPorta going in the pass game.

Goff, wtf man... what's going on?!?!?
I get it HC takes the heat, but that may be on Fipp. But ignoring that, can’t take into play game plays out exactly the same if the Lions kick a FG there.
Biggest issue was gameplan and execution on offense. Being so pass heavy, especially after Vea went out, make no sense. Add on Goff’s poor decision making.
i would put branch back at slot CB. bench Arnold a game. start using 2 TEs a lot more. i would seriously consider offering Denver a 5th rd pick for Reynolds to get him back. if Goff sucks early next week i'd put Hooker in to send a message. at this rate we could end up 1-3 going into bye week.

Yep concerned with this offense. Looks mediocre vs what Jon Gruden recently dubbed the best offense in the league. They are not the best offense in the league and won’t be this year. Not with this play calling and bad QB play.
Goff was bad, late on a lot of throws. Two or three times he threw it in the dirt. Not sure if that’s on him or the receiver
Ben Johnson called a bad game. RUN THE DAMN BALL!!! Montgomery getting only 10 or 12 touches and LaPorta only being targeted 3 or 4 times is nuts
Arnold looks like a rookie. I sincerely hope he gets better
Hutch was awesome!!!
Got to fix this
I thought the PI on Arnold was a ticky tack call. It was hand fighting that didn't impact the receiver's opportunity to catch the ball. My concern is now Arnold has 3 PI calls against him, so he will be watched much more closely by reffing crews
with the big leg we have in blake we need to let him try some 60 yard FG's instead of punting there. could have made a difference mind set wise for the team. he makes one we are down 3 instead of 6.
The end of the first half was an abomination. Blame aside...how does that even happen?
This start actually reminds me a lot of last season's first 2 weeks. Shaky win against a banged up team and then a sloppy loss in a game they should have won.
The frustrating part is Baker is a better QB than Goff and they could have had him for peanuts 2 years ago and moved on from Goff.
The boxscore won't show it, but St. Brown had another sloppy game. I saw at least 2 missed blocks and he looked lost a couple times. He doesn't seem like the type of guy that would get paid and rest on his laurels so I'm not gonna say that yet.
All that said I'm not really worried (yet). Nothing they can't fix. The teams that start the year hot are rarely if ever the teams that end hot.

The early bye may be a blessing...or, this was the wakeup call they needed...
Meh, start is no different than last year. I blame the complete lack of preseason reps. Last year after losing to Seattle in week 2, they reeled off 4 straight wins and 7 of 8. And this team should be better.
Arnold’s issues have been all penalty related, that doesn’t worry me.
He was known for being pretty handsy in college though. Hopefully they can coach him up.
Yeah, but honestly most college corners are because they don’t call it as much. Sauce Gardner was as grabby as any CB I’ve ever seen in college(still is). Out of the 3, I think there’s been one legit, one borderline, and one bad call. The more he plays, the more he’ll learn how to manage.
