Lions defense held the Texans to 3.8 yards per play compared to 5.6 for the Lions. Even though Goff had 5 interceptions he managed to throw for a 8 YPA average and two TD's. Most underrated stat in football is the YPA average. The Lions actually deserved this win.

While the YPA is important, it is still extremely rare to win any NFL game when you are -3 in turnovers. Teams that are -3 win only 9.3% of the time.

Yes, I agree but it is also very rare to hold a team to 3.8 yards per play especially a team like the Texans. This time, the defense stepped up and offense never lost confidence. That is the mark of a good team.

100% agree. The resiliency of this team is pretty amazing. Missing both starting DE's, a large portion of our LB depth, our starting LT and having LaPorta miss most of the 2nd half and still overcome the -3 turnover margin against a playoff caliber team is the mark of a champion.
The Lions also had a solid 3rd quarter. That turned the tide of the game. They typically have a 3rd Qtr let down. Wasn't easy, it was a dog fight and a grind. Great win for this team, making of a championship run.

Yep, they have another loss. Suck it!
I'd like to make a bunch of comments about our defense, which played lights out all night. Perhaps you're rooting for the wrong team?
wtf are you talking about, Fella? You drunk or just dumb?
Before the game i said I was concerned about their D and was told their D wasn't to be worried about as they had played nobodys....so kindly stfu and have a nice day

I didn't know a whole lot about this team other than their offense with Nico Collins, etc. But their D was a menace and all over the place. I think other teams will try to replicate the run blitz style they implemented when playing us. They were hell bent on making Goff beat them. This is a good team especially on defense but Lions held it together.

They’ve seemed to get rid of that problem finally this year. 3rd quarter has actually been one of their strengths this year.

Every time the offense took the field, Campbell had the same fiery confidence in his eye. His confidence in his players and his assistants just never seems to waver.

That soft zone shit at the end killed them. They were putting 8 in the box earlier in the game and challenging the Wrs more.
Texans LB’s and Pitre were destroying the run game all night. Johnson like to use a lot of wham blocks with his TE’s and pull OL to second level to clean LB’s. Speed of their LB’s was an issue and there was a ton of missed blocks that allowed them to keep blowing up run plays. I don’t know what success rate was on play action last night but with the way the LB’s were crashing, I’d guess it had to be decent.
Teams trying to replicate that will be easier said then done, not sure many teams have that kind of speed at LB and a chess piece like Pitre that can play all over.

I said I thought their D was overrated based on not having played many quality opponents. Apparently you got butt-hurt by this because you kept dropping passive-aggressive posts all night about their D. Grow up dude. The need to constantly point out when a differing opinion from yours may be incorrect is childish. You were 100% right Felix!!! You are never wrong! Feel better? SMH
