If JC gets fired for 9 wins? While I really like a lot of their off season moves, I have been totally unimpressed with the coaching. Opening at home last season against a team that soundly beat us with a rookie QB had me changing the channel for most of the season. It is remarkable how close Vegas is for this team every year.
Reason for hope on D.
Ansah is gone and we got his dough to spend on a guy who will be playing. When they acquired Flowers it reminded me of Schwartz when he got KVB. It's more than a player upgrade, it's an upgrade in attitude for the team. It's also a huge upgrade along with Snacks and Hand.
Reason for concern on D.
Secondary was hampered by not just talent but a system that negated the best part of what Quinn and the DB's brought to the game. He was largely ineffective and our turnovers from that group dropped off the chart. I have serious doubts about what they're trying to do because what they accomplished was to make a fairly effective group fairly ineffective.

We got a real NFL TE and just added depth with a real NFL RB. I see the Amendola signing as pretty neutral.

Last year I really liked our WR situation. With Tate gone and Marvin Jones finishing the season on IR it showed just how little depth we have. It's a decent class for WR's, they need to find at least one either in FA or the draft. Not so sure, here's the guys on the 53 man roster to finish last season....
19 Kenny Golladay
17 Andy Jones
13 T. J. Jones
18 Chris Lacy
10 Brandon Powell
If that doesn't scare the crap out of you it should.
With all the resources we have used to fix the OL, it remains broken until it's not.
I believe that this team gained some serious help in FA, but it remains to be seen if this staff can coach them up. I also don't see where we have done much of anything to stop the bleeding on the dink and dunk passes that are likely to be wide open again this year. Yes, we got a nickle CB but most of the damage will be in front of him with the LB group IMO. If they can't at least match what JC was able to do it's time to move on in what Jerry Glanville used to call the (N)ot (F)or (L)ong league if you can't get it done.
