I know the media will have a field day with it, but the bottom line is even if you sit most of the starters, LaPorta probably still plays. You can't sit every starter.

Especially with Wright already injured. Thin at TE.
The silver lining is that Goff is going to have a ton of personal motivation for this game.
He'll be out for revenge, and to prove he was the better end of the trade. I'm guessing this is the game the NFL wanted, and probably why the fix was in on the Dallas game. Makes for a good story.
So I fully expect to see Goff zinging darts all over the field to the most average and ordinary collection of pedestrian WRs you'll ever see.

It will be interesting. LaPorta hurt, Mitchell is a decent TE and can still make some plays, plus what we haven't seen much of lately is Gibbs out if the backfield.
LaPorta is an exceptional talent however I think some of his success is because of the system. IMO Mitchell will be good enough to help the Lions win this game.

I think you could put this guy in any system, and he'd find a way to make the catch and drag about 10 defenders with him for 20 yards before they bring him down. Dude's a freak.

Leaf might be the bigger loss than LaPorta in this one for his downfield blocking and special teams (especially how bad the Rams special teams coverage is).
