I think they are a playoff team but still need more pieces to be a contender....they will do damage...in fact, I see a 5-6 game winning streak coming....I just dont know if they can win those playoff games yet....we will see...

They still have trouble finishing games

Defense is giving up too many yards on the ground. OL was shaky yesterday, couldn't run the ball and pass protection was suspect.

Not scoring enough TDS and too many field goals. This is a .500 team right now. There are glimpses of good things. Time will tell.

Feel the same as a I did before. They’re a good but flawed team, like a lot of teams, if not all of them. They can play with anyone.

Lions are Jekell and Hyde. They seem to do well in the first half and disappear in the 2nd on both sides of the ball.

On both losses and the tie, the Lions defense couldn't do their job and get a late stop when the game was on the line. The Lions need to be up at least 9 points with less than 5 minutes to go if they have any chance of winning.

GB was 0 for 8 on 3rd downs when they did not get a call from the zebras, don't blame the defense  put the blame where it belongs

I'd say only having 8 - 3rd downs shows the Lions defense was not stopping the Packers on 1st and 2nd down.  The Packers had over 450 yards of offense.

Stop blaming the refs for the loss solely, makes you look like a loser.

It's not true, I just looked at the game logs and they had a 2 or 3 third down conversions.

Really? I just re-watched the game and I have to say I'm even less inclined to blame the zebras after a second viewing. The Lions were pathetic in the second half, and particularly the 4th quarter and totally deserved to lose the game.

Rodgers came up pretty big in the 4th quarter with some big time throws. Even prior to the interception (which wasn’t his fault) he made that big throw to Valdez-Scantling. Then on the touchdown drive he completed a pass to Lewis and of course the pass into tight coverage to Lazard which is about as perfect of a pass into great coverage as you will see. Then there was the keeper on 3rd & 8 on last drive. Threaded the needle to Jimmy Graham on 2 & 7 with just under 3 minutes. Then Lazard on 2nd & 8 after 2 minute warning.
Sure, the phantom penalties kept the drive going but Rodgers took advantage, unlike Stafford and the Lions when they had the edge (particularly after the interception).

Detroit's two 4th quarter drives:

GB 43 after Coleman INT results in 3 plays with 8 yard Kerryon run and 2 incompletions and 54 yard FG

Det 25 - 6 plays and a punt with 4 incompletions

4th quarter passing:
Rodgers 8-12
Stafford 1-6

Pretty much everyone outside of the DBs crapped the bed in the second half (Coleman had issues but I don't blame him for the TD). Stafford was awful. He was 6/16 for 46 yards in the second half. I saw something today that said he has the lowest completion percentage in the second half in the entire NFL this year. No wonder they can't close out games. I also still question the D-line conditioning as they always seem gassed in the 4th quarter.

Stafford has been garbage in the 2nd half of almost every game this season. It does start there. But the defense has also gave up a possibly game losing drive in all 5 games as well (2 losses and lost lead into the tie and the other team's ineptitude on their last drive gave the Lions their two wins. Like I said Jekell and Hyde. You can try to correlate the two by saying if the offense was on the field longer it gives the defense a break, you could also say the same thing about the defense getting a 3 and out and they just haven't done it at all in the 4th quarter.

But also to be fair those two hands to the face calls were bogus and did have an effect on the game, and this hopefully is going to lead to changes in the officials. But it does suck that it takes the Lions getting jobbed for anything to change.

Gb was 4 out 12 on 3rd downs and all 4 of those came from an officials call, Rodgers was given extra opportunities by having drives extended by those calls which means the defense stayed out there longer and became more vulnerable if they don't call those because none of those calls were legit rodgers #s would be completely horrible all game long, If they do make the legitimate call on Jones the Lions win this game by more than 2 TDs

Lions are a playoff caliber team. But it’s obvious they need to get ahead by several scores to take the refs influence out of the final score. We can’t keep games close. We need to dominate.

Not sure where you got your info but that's simply not true. Just eyeballing the play by play I found 4 cases where they got a first on third down without a penalty and I wasn't even looking at every play so there might be more. Plus the Lazard TD was on third down (I know that doesn't technically count as a first down but it might as well be).
