Rumors have it the Lions are sniffing around for a RB. Miami wants at least a 4th rd pick for him. He is a Free Agent after this season. Maybe the Lions can offer up the 5th they got for Diggs. Any takers? Also Chargers shopping Melvin Gordon. I would be in favor of that one.

Few things.... Changing backs each series is stupid. Ty Johnson is the best option we have at RB on the roster. After this game Drake trade would be a godsend. Keep ty Johnson, and Carson, cut the rest and trade for Drake. Our DEs are total shit. We need to trade for a starter. Only option wechave is trade a draft pick or trade Slay for a starting DE that does t play for NE.

I was surprised McKissic wasn't more involved. Carson looked promising early on but then we saw why he had 17 yards in 4 years in the league. Seemed like every time Ty had a good gain it was called back for holding.
Conditional 6 that can turn into 5th. Good value for Cards.
Watching Kenyon last night and thinking of what could have been for a 5th round pick.......Unbelievable...Lions lore is bereft with shoulda, woulda, coulda's...and of course no Super Bowls. This is almost Managerial Negligence.

Unfortunately, you think RBs have talent to overcome....when it is really the Oline and scheme that makes running backs successful. It is the reason why you see teams with great schemes and Oline and they can plug and play guys. Then when that backup who has some success, he gets a big contract and goes to another team without that Oline and scheme and they fail miserably.
It's the tale as old as time, kind of like that girl from the midwest with a cute face and people say she can make it in Hollywood and it turns out she can't and to make ends meet she does porn.

if you were to look back at all my posts both here and at the old site, I have railed about the OL for decades. And while some think that there is significant improvement....that remains to be seen. Arizona's OL isn't much better that ours however Clearly, and I want to emphasize, clearly Kenyon Drake is better than Our Active RB's. In other words you could put Carson, McKissick, Ty Johnson and whatever else is left into a bag and shake it and combine all into one, and that one would still be less than Kenyon Drake
Backs do matter. But there’s a lot of things wrong with running game beyond the RB’s.
I’d really like to see a new OL coach.
This site does strange things with my posts. They disappear...Anyway..I posted that for Decades I have railed against the OL talent. Some say this new version is better, I reserve judgement. Kerryon has had some success but the others...not so much. I also posted you could take all of the rb's we have active on the roster, put them in a paper bag and shake it until just one came out...and the one would not have the talent and abilities of Kenyon Drake. Of this i am dead sure. I don't understand why they didn't trade for the guy. Unless there are character issues...no rumours about that. He would have been a rental....but he sure looked good last night

You overvalue Kenyon Drake. He was a corpse until he went to a team that has a good scheme and look at that plug and play he busts over 100 yards.
It's not rocket science. Whatever Bevell and his team scheme for running must be antiquated because even with KOJ it wasn't working.

The run blocking sucks ballz. It blows my mind how this team can never figure out the run blocking...whether it be the talent, coaching, scheme, it just doesn't seem to matter. Saquon Barkley would be pedestrian behind this line. I've been a fan for 40 years and I don't think the run blocking has ever been that good. Maybe in the 80's with Billy Sims for that brief time. Even in the Barry years Barry did most of the work. And I'm of the opinion that most RBs are a dime a dozen but Barry was one of the few that made it work despite a mediocre line (no disrespect to Kevin Glover). There are probably about 5 RBs in the NFL right now that are real difference makers on their own. The line and scheme is EVERYTHING.

Actually I do not overvalue Kenyon. He is a very good running back. I think KOJ is better. I just don't have a high opinion of the rest of the pack. Tra Carson's debut looked very Kevin Jonesque. Cleat tracks up the back of several of our OL. Perkins was dismal and Ty Johnson isn't a North thru the line type. He is a speedster scatback type. So I attribute scheme and OL talent as part of the puzzle. As far as Drakes contribution in Miami.....were talking Miami 2018, 2019...not a lot to talk about there. They have hitched their wagon to Mark Walton. Good luck with that. Kenyon will thrive in Arizona and I think he would have made our running game viable. Is he Billy Sims or Barry Sanders..of course not. But he is much better than present company and for a 5th round choice...lets see how the season plays out now.
