It means they have some security if he gets hurt again, which has been an issue. Also gives them a good compliment. Swift is a great receiver and has more big play ability.
First impression this kid is strong, big legs. His dad is owns a gym and is a body builder. This is the kind of back you get. Not burned out, not injury prone. I like the player, just concerned about the lack of DL and OL help. I don't think Quinn could pass on this kid, he was suppose to be a lock in the first round. Plus he can catch out of the backfield. Didn't like the Kerryon Pick...I like this kid.
Another RB by committee guy. Why take a guy who is likely only to get 10-12 touches a game. Taylor or Dobbins would have been in the 15-20+ range.
You are exactly right, another miss in the 2nd round. Jonathan Taylor should have been the pick here, better fit for Bevell's offense. Lions need a fucking starter, just grabbed a 3rd down back instead.

Shouldn't have drafted a RB at all there, but yeah, a specialist that will probably play less than half the offensive snaps at 35? Teams that won 3 games the previous season can't afford luxury picks at 35. This front office truly baffles me to Millhew levels.
I could see the argument for Taylor over Swift from a scheme fit stand point but I don't agree with the criticism that he isn't a 3 down back, at the end of the day I hope this was the guy that Bevell wanted because I trust him the most out of this regime.

I understand, should have gotten a different positional need. I can see why Quinn couldn't pass on him. He looks to be legit. I don't see him as a situational guy. I see him being a good runner and a one step north and south runner, quick, strong, durable, can already play all 3 downs. Your right, the backfield is crowded, I can see someone getting cut back there. But KJ can't carry the load, he is fragile and Swift shouldn't be blamed for bad choices that Quinn made in the past. I think this kid can be good...according to the YouTube scouting report
