Would have MUCH rather seen a DT or DE there, but if a RB is taken he looks like a good one. Just read NFL co.parison is Dalvin Cook...ill take that all day...
Another RB by committee guy. Why take a guy who is likely only to get 10-12 touches a game. Taylor or Dobbins would have been in the 15-20+ range.
You are exactly right, another miss in the 2nd round. Jonathan Taylor should have been the pick here, better fit for Bevell's offense. Lions need a fucking starter, just grabbed a 3rd down back instead.
i dont know man...i hate to say it because past results are not indicitive of future performance, but wisconsin has had lots of great college rbs that have never transitioned to the nfl well, while georgia has many good college backs that have had great careers in the nfl.
Add to that, taylor has a ton of mileage aleady, not to mention fumble issues...i think they may have taken the right guy...i mean, if youre taking a rb there...
Felix, I hope you're right. I will admit that Swift is a more explosive player, especially in the passing game. I just think the Lions could get more out of a guy like Taylor, at least more production.
I know Georgia produces NFL backs but that team is always loaded with NFL caliber OL prospects too, not to mention loaded offensively at all positions. See some of these holes them Georgia RBs are running through? When it comes Taylor, these teams knew he was getting the rock and still couldn't stop him, no passing game to help him out either.
It doesn't matter now, what is done is done. Hope Swift proves me wrong.

The only thing we would have got more of from Taylor is fumbles. Been there done that, no thanks.

I like the fact that he is durable and low mileage, well rounded.
I can see his one cut style transitioning well. He has big legs and is strong.
Sure we needed help in other areas, I think it was a good risk vs reward. Losing Redding and Mikisic, got a guy that can fill the void and when KJ misses half the season again adds some depth.
