Jonah Jackson and Logan Stenberg were PFF darlings in the draft and the Lions seemed to either be utilizing some PFF data or their evaluations were similar, the question is after letting Graham Glasgow walk and swapping out Rick Wagner for Vaitai Halapoulivaati is this a net gain on the offensive line?
The prospect of hitting on two OGs to pair with Ragnow to lockdown the interior for the next 4 years would be a great development and one that bodes well for an offense who recently gained a RB with a elite skill set and a offensive coordinator who wants to operate a more run heavy offense with play action passing, time will tell if these PFF grades equate to NFL production but I am excited about the unit for once.
Don’t think it was just PFF, both guys seemed to fall in line with a lot of people where they were drafted. And PFF wasn’t a fan of the Vatai signing, even though they seem to like him a bit.
Hard to tell if it will be gain. They have an abundance of Guards, so there should be good competition at minimum. Maybe we’ll see a 6 guard rotation this year.
Wagner was inconsistent here, but hard to know if Vatai will be an upgrade there. Glasgow got a bit overrated by some Lions fans, but he has been really durable and always at worst solid.
I’ll be interested to see how much more Ragnow progresses, he looked like a top 5 Center last year in year 2 with room still to grow.
