The Detroit Lions announced Tuesday that Martha Firestone Ford has decided to step away.
Sheila Ford Hamp is her successor, as conveyed via a statement released by the franchise.
"Under the team's established plan, Mrs. Ford's daughter, Sheila Ford Hamp, has succeeded her mother as the team's principal owner and chairman. Mrs. Hamp has been active in team leadership and National Football League activities for several years in preparation for officially assuming team leadership."

Wish the Ford family would sell. I will however give her a chance and see what happens. I don't think she will wait around for Patricia and Quinn. I bad season right off the bat, I think they are gone.
The decades I have watched this franchise..Russ Thomas era..etc There were teams that could have went to the Super Bowl..But the calamity of events, Injuries, Officials calls...you name it, it happened. The closest was the missed Eddie Murray field Goal in San Francisco....Russ Thomas was kind of a hard nosed negotiator..I think William Ford made a big mistake with Millen...But I thought Martha took the bull by the horns. Now we have the Sheila Ford Hamp era...
