Well, the curse came from a QB being traded in his prime without consent...so maybe tbe trade of the QB, from the same city, in his prime that asked for it was the reversal?

I'll go with that. Sounds good to me. Perhaps by merely unleashing this data into the ether is all that was needed. They did attend the same high school so by this proxy perhaps we can thank Staff for reversing the curse of Bobby Layne? Or am I too soon? Did I just curse the Rams? My god it's a fragile situation so plead now dear fellow fan friends...plead and ask the football gods to go easy on us. We've paid our price so please let Piggy win a SB and put this curse away. Amen

The narrative that Stafford was the problem was always a dumb one. But I will go on to say that the 2021 Rams looks like an amalgam of some of the best Lions teams that Stafford had to helm.
If anything this shows....the game is a team game and will always be a team game. You need good players to win.

I know what I saw for 12 years. The Rams are a really good team and a lot of QB's would be successful there. No one is doubting Stafford can make some big throws. A good QB makes people around him better and I have not seen that from Stafford on either team.
It was time to move on regardless of how things worked out for him in LA.

Maybe he was a bust in Detroit. He is much older now then when Detroit made a serious playoff run (that one season), and the change of scenery and going to a really good contending team really helped his situation.
I guess we have to define what a "bust" is to really answer this question

Cooper Kupp just had the second best statistical season in NFL history with Stafford….second only to a guy that also played with Stafford.
This is also ignoring guys like Golden Tate, Kenny Golladay, and Marvin Jones who all career bests with Stafford. Shit, Kris Durham looked viable for a stretch.
Obviously Stafford isn’t solely responsible for any of that, but saying he didn’t make anyone around him better is just stupid.
Definitely not a bust. Just didn't live up to the draft status/salary he earned.
That said, Stafford definitely seems to be playing with a swagger he hadn't had in Detroit for years. I'd been saying for years that regardless of everything else, Stafford seemed like a beaten man his last few years in Detroit (understandably so). Could a better quarterback have overcome playing for the shit organization that is Lions and turned it all around? We'll never know.

Not even sure I’d agree with that. I’d say he was fairly consistently a top 10 QB while he was in Detroit. He also for the vast majority of the time had a bad to sometimes historically bad defense and piss poor running game. He’s got his own blame for some things, I think that over the time he was here there was maybe 4-5 QB’s that could have done enough to overcome some of those rosters and especially last few years, coaching.
Honestly this has been beat to death. The idea that he was a bust or didn’t make anyone around him better is incredibly stupid, though.

Just because he is not Aaron Rodgers or Tom Brady and can't carry the team on his shoulders doesn't mean he is a bust, just a buster...lol
Now he made the throw he had to make last weekend, but lets see if he can do it a few more times. The rub has been he cant win the big games, well he just won one finally.

took the words out of my mouth...but im used to bigdog saying some really stupid shit, so nothing new here that a little common sense wouldnt tell you...
If he takes the Rams to the Superbowl and wins, he will have a 4-3 playoff won loss record. All 4 wins coming this year. Stafford wins a Superbowl with the Rams he is a shoo in for a plaque in Canton. That in spite of 12 years in Detroit.... Thats amazing in its own. And Yes, he will go in as a Ram.
I wouldn't say that. Stafford probably needs to win more than one or at least have an all-pro season for that to happen. But the criteria for the HOF is a little loosey goosey at times.
In a way Piggy Face is the ultimate metaphor for Detroit. He had some good years but was never really happy and healthy until he left for the fun and sun. I grew up in and around Detroit. Solid people. But I never really knew how shitty Detroit was until I moved to California (back in the 90s - not lately) or stayed in Florida for a year. Stafford is every one stuck in the D surviving then finally breaking away for greener pastures. Detroit is a good place to be FROM it builds strength and survival skills but thats just it....a good place to be FROM not a good place to die in. Go Piggy 🐷
what I miss? I don't see anything, I wonder if the original link got removed.
Was it that video of the dork who was super excited that Stafford threw that pass to Kupp to get into field goal range?
It is still there but yes, that is it. You probably have a setting in your browser blocking it. I know on my phone I have to disable content blocking to see those embedded links.

I always feel like those are staged, people looking to go viral. What are the odds someone is filming at the exact time of a crushing play to lose or huge play to win. I guess this one is possible with there being a play before to give one last shot.
Either way, worked out for him. I read that Rams fans raised a bunch of money and got him and his girl tickets to the game Sunday.

Nope not a bust the bust are the Detroit Lions for never putting a championship quality team out there. The Ford family needs to sell to someone that has a winning mentality and will keep the team here.
