well, thursday we can probably chalk up as a loss ut the rest of the way theres some very winable games. could get interesting with a possible playoff spot. didnt expect a win today. so no telling whats gonna happen going forward.
Barnes has really made some big strides last 3-4 games. Rodrigo has been quiet, I would get Barnes more reps. Also WTF is Swift doing out there with all the dancing around. Hit it up I there. I don't like how he is playing right now. McNeil...wow what a great game he had. What else can be said, great win. Defense has played much much better, offense has found its stride. Like the play calling a lot in NY on offense. Glad we picked Hutch over Thibodaux.

Agreed on all points. Also: - Jackson running with some real fire - the penalties on Sewell (holding and block in the back) were both ticky-tack calls. On the block in the back, the DB turned his back as he tried to run around Sewell. Sewell just stood there and blocked him. It wasn't like Sewell ran up behind him and blocked him from behind. Like I said, ticky-tack call. - Skipper continues to be a practice squad gem - St. Brown reminds me of a young Anquan Boldin - I kept an eye on Thibs for much of the game. Elite speed, but zero awareness. He ran himself past and out of plays all day long. At this point, Hutch is years ahead of Thibs on the awareness scale. - Solid tackling all around on the defensive side of the ball. I saw some guys get outran to the sidelines, but very, very few missed tackles by the Lions. - Loved the way the Lions finished this game. Any time you can run the ball when they know you're going to run the ball, it is completely demoralizing for the opponents defense. - I barely noticed Goff in this game, which means he did his job, though I didn't love the deep ball on 3rd down in the 4th quarter. - When I first started watching the Lions (back in the late 70's), even when we weren't a very good football team, we always had solid defensive teams. I believe at the heart of every Lions fan is a love of old school, punch you in the mouth defensive football. This team is starting to develop that type of defense. Still a long way to go, but maybe let's not fire Aaron Glenn just yet. - The Swift thing is concerning. He appears to be scared to plant and cut, yet we continue to call his number for sweeps, pitch outs and off-tackle runs. Still wishing we would have taken Jonathan Taylor with that pick. - Finally, I'd like to take credit for this winning streak. The Lions haven't lost since I started doing the weekly game preview, and, ya know...it's all about me You're welcome!
To me St. Brown reminds me of Hines Ward. We all have players we compare him to, that is the thing. He does have characteristics of many players. The Hines Ward thing for me is he doesn't have that elite speed, but has sure hands and gritty across the middle. Plus he can block pretty good. His RAC isn't pretty, he just break tackles and gets up the field. He is a special player, an embodiment of the Lions rebuild.

I remember the defensive teams the Lions had back then as well. kept us in mosy games. mean LBs, solid D. Loved it.

This is huge and I can't remember the last time a Lions team has this ability. I do worry what happens if Williams gets hurt as it seems Swift is checked out and I'm not a Jackson believer. Is Jefferson still on the squad?
