Lions got only a 5th rounder for Okudah, but some team just might pony up a late 3rd rounder for Swift. Brad Holmes is in full "Let's make a deal" mode. Swift would look good in a Dolphins Uniform.

It doesn't make sense to offload him at this point. He's more valuable as a one-year depth RB than whatever we'd get in exchange for him, because he's a known commodity. Keep his work load down throughout the season, and he's the type of guy who could provide a serious ignition for the playoffs. Especially if you lose someone like Montgomery along the way.

I don’t disagree, but sounds like Swift may want to go too. Which makes sense with him being a FA next year.

I think there is a pretty Healthy Market for him out there. He is a very good player when he is healthy. High 3rd rounder or a 4th and a 5th. The Lions really don't have to get rid of him. That is true, but if someone likes him...Maybe even a KC, a Miami, Buffalo, NY Jets....There is a lot of interest out there according to the Internet. I wouldn't just give him away. He is young still and his injuries have not been serious. But if someone offers enough in exchange... Maybe even the Dallas Cowboys, then the Lions can shore up other areas of need. Funny thing is the Lions have not very often been in a position to do something like this. I think the current Lions regime just want to get a more dependable option then Swift has been so far. But the guy is a very good RB.

i'll hold the door for him so he doesnt get hurt trying to open it.
Might hold onto Swift and trade him in season to a needy team ala TJ Hockenson? If it's a 5th or later pick they might be better off having a contract year motivate RB around as injury insurance? I think they are creative enough to use him and Gibbs in the passing game especially with Jameson Williams suspended for the first 6 games.

In season seems like a better time to move him because some team may have injury pop up and be more desperate. Then again taking the chance Swift gets dinged up.
Wouldn’t be surprised if Swift is asking out now, too.

The perception of Swift nationally is wildly different than the people that watched the Lions every week. I get how talented he is, but he lived on the injury report.
Schefter is saying how the eagles will get that 4th round pick back in comp when Swift leaves. That seems incredibly optimistic given his career so far and the way RB contracts go. Swift would have to go bananas.

he'd slip on the banana peel and go on the injury list again
