I omitted Hooker because he probably won't play this season. Time may change this poll and players this draft 5 years from now may be a bigger talent than what we see this year. But if you had to choose one player this season, who would it be to be the "breakout player" from this years draft?
Probably Gibbs, but LaPorta may be a surprise. Think his ability after the catch may make him a security blanket for Goff. Especially early if St.Brown gets extra attention during the Williams suspension.
based on history, RBs tend to transition to the NFL the quickest while burning out earlier than other positions.
RBs also get injured. Funny how no one seems to be talking about the fact that Gibbs is smaller than Swift.
I just can't believe Vic actually spelled all the names correctly.
Swift is built like a house, I don’t think size matters with him. Think there are other issues.
Size of back would only concern me if they’re being used a certain way. Guys like Chris Johnson, Jamaal Charles, Austin Ekeler, Brian Westbrook are around Gibbs size and had pretty healthy careers. Then you have guys built like trucks like Fred Taylor who got called “Fragile Fred” for a long time(unfairly at times), James Conner, Rashad Penny have had some trouble.
I trust Johnson to be smart with his usage of Gibbs. If he’s running him between the tackles 12-15 times a game, then it’s gonna be an issue, but I doubt that’s the case.
I went with Laporta too. I think he has to easiest time getting on the field with that position group and I think he may be the sleeper on the draft. I am not normally big on TE's but I think his game transitions well to the NFL and with this offense. I do think all the top 4 picks will get some decent snap count as rookies, Laporta may be the starter day 1 at TE.
