Looks like Lucas is back on PS and Badgley too. Solid Kicker recycling program.
Was Lucas not not on waivers? I would have thought Lucas would get snatched up before Thomas.
Think he has to be, doesn’t have 4 years in. A little surprised he didn’t get claimed. Saw it said that he had offers for other practice squads, but chose to come back.

I thought the Lions should have kept Thomas if they wanted to keep him. I didn't think Lucas showed enough to get snatched up in waivers. But I think they knew and have been telling us that someone who got cut would get picked up by another team. Not sure who else they could have cut to keep Thomas. Maybe Dorsey, but he would probably would have been claimed by someone as well.
A guy you can’t trust from 55+ makes a difference.
If the offense can't get the team into a position to get at least a 40 yard attempt at the last minute, then I am more worried about my team than not having a kicker who can hit a 55+ (no kicker can do it with any consistency in all reality, even the best of them). Relying on a kicker to make multiple 50+ yarders is the sign of a bad team.

Also Jacksonville saw a chance to upgrade from him and did.
Saying upgrade is a stretch, McManus had worse stats than Patterson did in 2022. And looking at who were FAs this past year, meh.
Yeah, that’s just not true. Kicking 50+ yard FG’s is something every team needs to do at times and part of the reason Jax went from Patterson to McManus I’m sure is because of McManus’ showing he has that ability through his career. Part of the reason McManus’ % was lower was because of the number of 50 yard kicks McManus had. Inside the 50 McManus was actually better.
Patterson is fine, but he limits you and I don’t know how much they trust him in a big spot. And they obviously think there is room for improvement and would like to be better at Kicker or they wouldn’t have had so many come in and out of here since Prater left.

Surprised no one mentioned Craig Reynolds re-signed.
I think I learned something new about the NFL, when I put together that being RELEASED instead of WAIVED, means you've moved your way up in the world. As far as 3rd-string running backs go, you just don't see that many that can boast the fact that they were "released."
Back when I was in the dating scene (like 80 years ago), it would be the equivalent of a hot girl taking you out of her lower-tier friend zone, elevating you to "text message replying within 24 hours" status. Making you 2nd choice as opposed to last resort.
It is really baffling when you think of it. That someone would date me.

We did, it was mentioned the plan prior was to put trade someone or put them on ir to have him on the roster.
Craig Reynolds is a damn good #3 RB option. Glad he re signed
He doesn't get the credit he deserves because he's not flashy. He just runs straight ahead mostly, and just oddly finds ways of getting yards. It's almost like his running style is so boring, that it puts defenses to sleep. And then he runs right past them while they're napping. I think I take naps myself when he gets the ball, then I wake up and he's picked up four yards and set us up for 3rd and 2.
