Looks like St. Brown will be back. Just guessing no Branch and Gibbs for another week. Not sure if there been an update on Jonah Jackson.
Bucs are a tough team to figure out. Bakers been playing well, but what makes him good at times can quickly go the other way. The OL doesn’t seem to have much outside of Wirfs. White is a solid back but no reason they shouldn’t be able to slow down the run game. Evans hasn’t practiced, if he’s out that’s a big plus to me. Can see them attacking Jacobs with him, he’s the kind of WR that’s given him trouble.
Bucs DL is kind of like their OL, outside of Vea not a ton there. Barrett is ok, but they should be able to run the ball. Some talent at LB and DB, but nothing they shouldn’t be able to exploit.
Get out in front early and force Baker to play hero ball.

The only thing I saw on Jackson was he was seen in a walking boot. So if Vaitai is back do they slide Glasgow over to cover if needed?
Not much impressive with the Bucs but they are 3-1 for some reason. Although playing the Vikings and Bears might do it. I see a similar game when they played the Eagles. Eagles didn't play all that well but did enough in the run game and kept the Bucs relatively at bay defensively.

I like the Lions to continue to roll 28-18
Jonah being out is a blessing in disguise. He's been playing like crap and Glasgow's been balling out.
I worry a bit. I think they rushed back Decker and he's still resting that ankle. it's too long of a season for us to risk these guys to injury this early. We will have plenty of opportunities to win games in the second half of the season. I'd rather figure something out for another week or two and allow these guys to heal than rush them back and have them playing half hurt for 3/4ths the season. and what is an abdomen injury? Are we talking Hernia? Ribs? sheesh!
LaPorta missed practice today with a calf injury. Apparently Lions should stop practicing.
I do get the impression that the Lions hold a more physical practice than most or all of the other teams. Didn't a new player recently comment on that?
Gibbs said the Lions hold easier practices than how Saban ran practice at Alabama. But he said this after mini-camps before training camp. Not sure if a vet said the opposite during training camp.

I think Jameson has a 100 yard game for some reason. A couple deep routes. Not sure why I think that. As far as practices, one would think after training camp and during the season they should ease up. I guess that's a fine line. Practice like you play is a real thing. I'd say Mondays and Tuesdays off to regroup then film and prep Wednesday. Fully practices from them out just to stay on top of things. Mcdc being a player probably has a good handle on this but one can't help ponder with all the injuries.

Not sure about 100 yards
But I think it's just a matter of time before they hit him on some deep balls in the play action game. I forsee a TD within the next two games. I have been saying this is prime to happen being his blocking ability with Montgomery on the field with defenses trying to stop the run.

I am guessing this is the reason, they are waiting for Sunday to move guys:
Practice squad players moving up to the main roster Teams now have more flexibility with using practice squad players on game day. PS players can be activated on game day before the team announces their inactives (90 minutes before game time). The player doesn’t have to be elevated from the PS to the main roster for the move. This can happen with up to two practice squad players per week. A player is now able to be elevated three times per season. To be activated a fourth time requires the player to be signed to the regular roster.
This was a big change from past rules, and makes it easier for teams to have players they know and trust on game day, and also not have to subject them to waivers when they are signed to the main roster and cut to get back to the practice squad.

Could be. Especially if the guys they elevate this week aren’t the guys to take the roster spots on the 53.
I though we might be in trouble against Carolina with all the starters missing but we kicked ass. i think we have the best depth at positions than we've ever had since the championship teams in the 50's. its a testament to the great job by Holmes and Campbell in building a winning roster. we are favored on the road? how many times has that happened?

I finally rewatched the Carolina game, and it was a much more evenly matched game than I thought. If we don't turn them over 3 times, that game would have been a nail-biter. Our pressure was inconsistent throughout the game against a below average o-line. Young had time to throw the ball, he just made some bad decisions and Hutch made an amazing play. Their above average d-line (really Burns is the only one above that is upper tier) was able to get to Goff and generate 3 sacks.
Tampa is a much better team than Carolina. Mayfield will not make the same rookie mistakes that Young made. They convert 3rd downs at a high rate and stay on the field. Their defense is very good, and was able to keep them in the game against Philadelphia. If we cannot turn them over like we did Carolina, I think we may be in for a long day.
This is type of game this team was built for. This will be a trench battle; a true kneecap biter for 4 quarters. Perhaps I still have Lions fan PTSD from 45 years of experience, but this one has me more uneasy than any game we have played so far. I trust our coaches and I trust our players, but we're not going 16-1, and this one feels like a grind-it-out type game. Hoping Montgomery continues to be the bowling ball and we wear them down by the 4th quarter, but I'm seeing Mayfield will his team to a win in front of the home fans. I hope I'm wrong.

Tampa 23 Detroit 21
I think Carolina had something like 160 yards of offense to start the 4th when it was a 3 score game. There’s some fools gold in those final numbers.
I’m a little nervous, too. Just my gut though. Disagree about the Eagles game, I watched that whole thing. It wasn’t close and the Eagles didn’t even play well. Ran the ball with ease on TB and AJ Brown lit them up.
Road game, Goff historically not great on road. And just potential letdown after this run, has my nervous. So basically just Lions fan PTSD.

Bucks got a sick D line. Be nice to have Gibbs but St Brown on screens and Jamo with reverses could cash dividends. Bucs D is gangster but we got to get Jamo and Reynolds in stride might offset the blitzes
