It happened last year. They got whooped by Panthers. They came back and whooped the Bears and beat Rodgers in GB.
Niners just lost to a PJ Walker lead Browns team and Eagles lost to Zach Wilson lead Jets team. Was a shitty loss and on to have some concerns, but it happens. Teams lay eggs and have bad days.
I keep trying to tell myself that but I think this game went beyond that. It was brutal. Super Bowl caliber teams don't lose like that.

Maybe, but I’d guess there’s some ugly losses on some top teams track records over the years. And I know it’s fresh, but is getting blown out by Lamar led Ravens that much worse than losing to PJ Walker led Browns or Zach Wilson led Jets? Not gonna worry too much yet. They’ll get Raiders next week, which should be a get right. Then get a challenge with Chargers after bye.

The Niner & Eagle losses were very close games where both teams had an opportunity to win. Our opportunity to win was gone by the end of the first quarter, and we just laid down. Very different situations.
As the season unfolds, many of our wins seem less and less impressive. The KC win was great, but they are obviously a different team without Kelce & Jones. Green Bay, Carolina, Atlanta & TB all are below average to bad teams.
With a few exceptions, the rest of the schedule is filled with below avg to bad teams. We had better hope we can win enough games against a very soft schedule to get a home playoff game because I'm not sure we stack up well against quality opponents, particularly on the road. We were exposed today.

I agree they were close games. My point was more, if I say PJ Walker, Zach Wilson, and Lamar Jackson and said tell my what is different. What would it be?

Re-watched that garbage to get it out of the way.
-Campbell talked about how Lamar beat them with his arm and he’s right. I’d say part of that was because of how scared they were to let him beat them with his legs. It’s a tough gameplan, I wouldn’t want to have to try and make it. But it seemed like a lot of off coverage with contain rushes, logical, but once Lamar started to pick that apart, would have liked to see quicker adjustment. Just seemed like they played on their heels, scared of what could happen and like they were trying to limit damage, not create it.
-Too many guys just played like shit though. Jack Campbell had a rough day. Just caught too many times being a step late or mis reading. Kerby had a rough start, got caught creeping up and let the ball behind him. Rule #1 for a safety. Wasn’t really any positives, Hutch was ok, put together some good rushes. D just seemed to lose as a group and it snowballed. Guys started trying too hard to make plays and left them vulnerable.
Offense wasn’t much better. I like the philosphy of getting to 3rd and managable. It’s smart, but I think it’s better with Montgomery and I think they were too slow to adjust when they fell behind.
-Goff has been awesome, deserves all the credit he was getting. Sucked today though. Just not a guy that’s gonna throw you on his back when you’re down a couple scores and make those big throws. Thought his passes just looked dead today. Wind was a factor, but his footwork wasn’t good either. Off his back foot, not stepping into passes, not finishing his throws. Ball just died too many times getting to the WR. Also, the spin move in the pocket came back. Was hoping that was dead and buried.
-Thought Amon-Ra had a sub par day for him. Couple drops and made a couple bad decisions with ball in his hands. Ravens looked like they were hanging a Safety with him in coverage, too. Like to see them take advantage of his motion a little more. Use some orbit to get him in space or draw that safety tighter to open middle. Feel like they used it a little more last season. Johnson seems to like to set plays up over the season though.
-Gibbs ran well and made some plays. Tough to make much from it given the way the game went. One of few bright spots I guess.
-Like to see them use Williams on some drags and digs across the middle. Use some pick routes. He did a lot of damage with that at Bama. Right now it feels like screen or top of the route tree. That’s it. And those deep balls, he and Goff don’t seem to be on same page. Probably some blame on both sides on that. Goff’s deep ball has fluttered and seems to be short and Williams hasn’t done a good job tracking the ball.
-This felt like the Carolina game. Got punched in the face and every time they tried to get back up, just got punched again. Like to not see that happen, but it’s early and have what should be a nice get right game at home against Raiders and then a break. Go into that bye with a nice win and by Chargers week, this will be distant memory.
The OL got dominated, offense couldn't do shit. Goff needs a clean pocket. No run game got going, Goff got sacked all game. His pass were limp ducks the first half.
The defense..wow
Got fucking gutted. What have been saying about this soft zone shit all season! But that wouldn't have mattered when you give up over 12 yards per play. Couldn't stop the run, no pass rush, and that soft zone shit ... hate it. It sucks. Bump and run and take your chances.

No they don't, they didn't even compete especially on defense.

I don’t know if this team is a Super Bowl contender, they’re definitely good, but this stuff happens to teams that are. It’s happen to teams that won the Super Bowl. 2021 Rams got their doors blown off twice during that season. The Bucs got whooped 38-3 by the Saints in 2020. I’m sure there’s plenty of other examples. It was bad, but let’s see how they bounce back.
the loss was on the defense. Gibbs did his job on offense. our defense sucked and thats on Aaron Glenn. our DL isnt as good as people thonk. we need another dominant DE like it or not. we need to trade for one to be serious contenders. when our D has been good the offense was able to do what they want. we get in a hole and its a whole different game. Crosby would make our DL elite. make the trade.
I don't even know what to say. This game stunk, on many different levels, from the get out...
Lions opened as underdogs in this one...instantly alarm bells rang for me...there was literally no reason they should have been dogs...unless someone knew something...
Then they took the ball...I instantly thought to myself, they saw something on tape and they are going to exploit it early
Then the refs...here we go again...but seriously, lions can't get a call and get called for bullshit when they actually made a positive play. Sorry, that second drive was not illegal contact...and those were some of the weakest "holds" on Sewell I've ever seen
Don't get me wrong, lions were trash and likely to lose anyway, just hate seeing shitty refs...
I'm just saying, when people say nfl is scripted, this is the kind of game that I feel seems like that...not that I think it was scripted, just it didn't feel right from the beginning and didn't stopNo, this was a loss from the jump and it just stunk of loss....just forget it and move on.

Yeah this felt scripted as fuck. Getting the Ravens to 5 and 2 with more Lamar talk. We know refs get paid for shit. This game was too weird. Made no sense.
there was literally no reason they should have been dogs
I thought in Baltimore the 3 points was about right.
If you list the top 10 reasons why the Lions lost this game, the officiating wouldn't be on the list.
The officiating was bad
The holds, non-calls on Kirby and Jamo on the first deep pass..etc.
But the Ravens averaged over 12 yards per play headed into the 4th quarter before they put in the back ups. I haven't even looked at the stats yet. They had what 6 sacks? The defense was gashed play after play after play. The scheme sucks on defense. This soft zone shit is garbage. Every play the middle of the field is open and they kept dripping passes in the same spot. And we kept running the same limp coverages. I knew it was matter of time before someone took advantage. But getting just dominated I'm the run game, that was a little unexpected how bad we are in reality.
The defense is fools gold. We all knew it, but didn't think it was this bad. Our two loses were vs tough AFC teams that just physically beat our ass.

The refs in the NFL yesterday may have had one of the worst days I’ve ever seen. They weren’t good in the game yesterday, saw a lot of complaints about them during the Pats/Bills and Falcons/Bucs game. They were bad in the Sunday night game. They had the awful spot in the Rams game that ended the game. Wouldn’t shock me if there’s some kind of statement this week from the league.

you forgot all the complaints about the colts browns game too
And last weeks dallas chargers game was about as bad as I've ever seen
The chances are very good this type of performance it's going to bitch slap us again in the face at some point in the season, hopefully then make make a run into the playoffs before it happens again. Those AFC teams are just built different.
Lombardi Trophy 🏆 is going through Baltimore vs. KC in the AFC (Jax and Mia killing it too tho, but Ravens are peaking) and probably (knock on wood) Det vs. Philly though SF and SEA scare me. Something tells me if we make the playoffs which it seems that might happen we will draw Seattle and that'd be a motherfuxker and time to bury them. If we don't get Seattle itd be SF and Goff will shine against that secondary. At any rate, Philly is stout up front and a DeAndre Swift match up seems to be where this is heading. 🙏🙏🙏
