Roberts getting traded for late round pick. Smart move. Wasn’t going to make the team.
The Detroit Lions are trading backup tight end Michael Roberts to the New England Patriots. According to a report from Justin Rogers of the Detroit News, the Lions will ship Roberts to the Patriots for a conditional late-round pick in a year not specified yet.

Quinn's drafts have been hit and miss a lot. He hasn't bombed any nor has gotten a 5+ starters from one. But he is doing okay overall. They have been "nice, not thrilling but nice".
It is too bad he didn't catch on, he had his chance but it wasn't to be. At least they got something, albeit a conditional 7th, instead of just dumping him at some point.

Liked him a lot coming out of the draft, but he’s been a complete flop. Has talent, but given what Lions invested in offseason, he clearly needs change of scenery.
I could see him being a red zone weapon for Pats and catching 5-6 TD’s.
